Re: Current Affairs 2025
When I read some of the verified reports of what Hamas did to the innocent victims of Oct 7th, I feel a sadness that reaches to the pits of my stomach.
I’m sure we are all hoping that the remaining hostages will be returned tomorrow with the slaughtered hostages returning in the following days thereafter.
It is then, and the following months after that we will witness a humanitarian crisis that will make the previous one look like a party in the park. The governance of Gaza will fall to pieces within a year, with those trying to administer it becoming targets from those who don’t want it. This is going to be a disaster with America withdrawing support within months which will leave any interested parties fighting it out for control.

In your opinion, which based on your racing tips, does not posess very accurate foresight.Onelife wrote: 12 Oct 2025, 21:49When I read some of the verified reports of what Hamas did to the innocent victims of Oct 7th, I feel a sadness that reaches to the pits of my stomach.

I tend to agree with Onelife. If we use Iraq as an example once a force like Hamas moves over the void will be fought over by various warring factions trying to exert power. Already Hamas have had to deal with other factions seeking power so these are turbulent times for the Palestinian people,

Don't worry anybody - that nice Mr Trump says that the war in Gaza is over. Not sure, other than Trump, who actually believes that!

I agree with OLs analysis, other than his one sided view of the victims in this. What Hamas did on 7th October was abhorrent. What Israel has done since is just as bad.

Perhaps we can send them that nice Mr Starmer and Mr Lammy to work their magic on diversity and inclusion. They can take as long as it takes.

So we send a migrant back on one in one out and bugger me, he returns on a small boat . Apparently he is now claiming asylum. The scheme is now one up in favour of the migrants

Re: Current Affairs 2025
It was always a waste of time. The only winners in this are the French, who send their asylum seekers here and then leave the ones they receive free to roam and try again. They're taking the p*ss. Sir Hindsight needs to think again. Maybe send them to Rwanda. Won't easily get another boat back from there.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
I doubt that Sir Hindsight is ever likely to publicly admit that a Tory policy just might have been more likely to succeed than a Labour one.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
It was the Labour luvvies who prevented the aeroplanes taking off for Rwanda by exploring exploiting human rights legislation. Looks like they have now handcuffed themselves and don't know how to get out of it.
Meanwhile those they have already deported under the one in one out deal are bouncing back in!!! What a total farce this lot have created.

They should be immediately put on a plane back to France before the legals get involved.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
Incompetency is too mild a word. Not sure who he would prefer to be captured by, the police or those who were rioting outside the hotel.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
Maybe screwy can shed some light on how this was even possible. There must be paperwork to check handed down from a higher position than the releasing officer.

Sir Hindsight is having a bad week, I bet he often wishes he was back on the opposition benches. Poor chap has been promoted way above his level of competency.

Re: Current Affairs 2025
The best bit is he was filmed in Chelmsford high street which is about half a mile away from the prison casually chatting to someone. He can only have been released a short while before this footage was taken as he’s still in his prison clothing with his belongings in the standard issue bag. There must have been some time before the authorities realised their mistake or the police would have been all over the area. Incompetence at the highest level.

They were saying on Newsnight last night that about 250 convicted prisoners go walkies every year without authorisation.
