I think I know exactly what you mean but will the players be thinking the same way ?paultheeagle wrote:... So it's Loanee United v Palace at Wembley...I can't wait...I hope Watfordi win but I don't want Palace to lose....I know that don't make sense but I know what I mean.
Yeah, right ... Olly was running scared and squawking like a stuffed chicken / showman ... on live TV ... but he will not be doing it again because he has a £15,000,000 loanee of his own now.
MoB ... all Holloway has pointed out is that there is a loop hole in the loan system that should be closed ...
Seriously though he should be taking it up with the FA not SKY TV but had Watfordi been in sight of the drop or been beaten by Palace I dare say he would then have said nothing at all.
No matter, let me explain the reason for the zillions of loanees ... our previous owner was being investigated for illegal transfer payments or some such and had to sell to save the Club from going into Administration. The new owners were faced with a situation where they not only had no time to buy new players but were impeded by a looming transfer embargo which is still in place to this day. A number of players had left the Club and the squad was minimal so they ' had ' to borrow a truck load of mainly untried players from other Clubs that they also own to meet their commitments to the League.
Anyhowz the FA can impose rules in the UK but not Euro wide, cannot see the problem myself and especially not at Watford where their home grown Academy is envied and copied by many Clubs.
