Re: Ventura October 2025
What happened with my post #7 on this thread I don't know. I thought I hadn't finished it but it disappeared and I assumed it had gone into the ether but obviously it printed. I think I'm just saying the same thing as Ray, many memories of how luxurious cruises with P&O were. Now they are obviously not interested in us older cruisers and I assume happy for us to say goodbye and move to other lines so they can concentrate on the family end of the market who are happy for a fairly cheap family holiday.

Re: Ventura October 2025
Fortunately there are still one or two cruise lines out there providing a more traditional cruise experience. P&O used to be so good in what they offered but their current offering is barely recognisable from those days and for me is no longer what I am looking for.

I am another who does not understand the current thinking within P&O to alienate the "older" passenger as they rely on them to fill their ships for two thirds of the year.

Re: Ventura October 2025
We also had a problem on our Sept cruise on Iona, when our toilet would not flush, fortunately one phone call to reception and we had an engineer visit us within the half hour. It needed a new 'wotsit' apparently, but he was back very quiickly with a new one and the loo was back in working order.
Just another reason to cruise on the newest P&O ships, rather than the old rust buckets.

Re: Ventura October 2025
Thank you Jan for your review
My Husband isn't in the least bit interested in booking P&O now after 35+ P&O cruises he prefers FO as do I
I still use P&O if going on a cruise with my daughter and grandson because of the kids club.
We have used Princess 6 times but weren't keen on them apart from the one we went on in Australia that one was very good the actual Aussie's were good company in the evening

Hi Jan, if I’d known you'd had your hand down your toilet for an hour trying to clear it I might have taken a different stance with your review…a bet you felt a little 'flushed' when the plumber came to clear it

Onelife, what ship are you sailing on? I take it from your posting that it's P&O, but I can not remember you saying which ship it is.Only 18 months to go.
Don't worry, be happy

Re: Ventura October 2025
Dear Keith,
We wanted to let you know that we’re making some changes to selected holidays on Arcadia and Aurora…. however, having taken into consideration your request not to have a load of screaming little brats running round the promenade deck and public spaces I have decided to leave your cruise unaffected.
Yours sincerely,
Paul (Ludlow)
Just to confirm…
Following guest feedback, we’ll be welcoming all ages on a small number of cruise holidays on Arcadia and Aurora from December 2026. This means families of all generations will now be able to enjoy holidays together on these two beautiful ships.
We’d like to confirm that your cruise will remain exclusively for adults and there will be no changes to your booking.
Holidays now inviting guests of all ages are:
Aurora: R621, R622, R623, R704, R707, R709, R711, R712, R713, R714, R715, R717.
Arcadia: J619, J703, J704, J705, J709, J710, J711, J713.
You can still sail with Arcadia and Aurora on an extensive choice of holidays exclusively for adults, so you’ve got the best of both worlds at your fingertips.
We look forward to welcoming you on Aurora soon… but for gawd sake don’t bring Foxy along with you

Ambassador allows kids during the school holidays.
They call it multi generational
My mate inadvertently booked Arvia during the summer holidays the year before last.
Let’s just say that his experience was quite different to ours.
