Time to get your jab
I’ve just been reading that Japan has been closing schools in their attempts to stem the spread of Flu…further reading would suggest that we in the UK could be facing a flu epidemic over the coming months.

Re: Time to get your jab
No Covid as we are faaaaar to young. Both got flu jab free. Mrs S would have got Covid jab if she was still working but retired two years ago. She thought 45years was enough, although I’m trying to find her a little part time number.

Just out of interest...I think if you have a Pfizer jab you have to have a follow up 21 days later or is there only on Pfizer jab now ?
If you do have to have a follow up jab is that included as part of the payment you made ?
Anyone gone for Moderna instead ?

We had the Pfizer jab last week and there was no mention of a follow up jab for us.Portsmouth wrote: 09 Nov 2025, 22:00Just out of interest...I think if you have a Pfizer jab you have to have a follow up 21 days later or is there only on Pfizer jab now ?

We both found that lifting your arm up was quite painful for the following two days.

Re: Time to get your jab
we usually get them at the pharmacy - and when we were allowed Covid ones it was one in each arm.. BUT the other half needed a blood test, so was simpler to do stabbing while at the GP

We have now both had our flu and covid jabs, although Pauline brought covid back with her from our September cruise, and had to delay her Jab's until she had fully recovered.

Re: Time to get your jab
Had ours beginning of October, Covid protection is Comirnaty KP.2 by Pfizer, which I had, but Mrs be being younger than me was denied it.
Both had the Flu jab. Ironically I caught the sniffles just after.
There's been enough warning out there that this year could be one of the worst flu season .
Any not taking note and don't have the jab, on your head be it.

Re: Time to get your jab
NHS says at least 3 months is recommended after the initial covid jabs before a follow up. I think that was how the roll out started, but now with most of us building up some immunity to covid, the present model is Spring and Winter jabs.Portsmouth wrote: 09 Nov 2025, 22:00Just out of interest...I think if you have a Pfizer jab you have to have a follow up 21 days later or is there only on Pfizer jab now ?

Re: Time to get your jab
Had both jabs at GP surgery on Saturday morning, same one as Ray. I am old enough so both jabs free. It always amuses me that on leaving I'm given a leaflet all about the vaccine and possible side effects etc. At the top of the leaflet it states, in bold print, ' Read all of this leaflet carefully before you receive this vaccine because it contains important information for you.' This is four pages of small print and if everyone had to sit and read this before having the jab there would be an enormous queue! The only after effect I had was a slightly sore arm at the vaccination site for a day or so but only when I lie on my side on the effected arm at night. This was the arm I had the Covid jab in, the other arm where I had the flu jab was fine. Good to have it done. There seemed a good uptake at my surgery. Saturday was the last day of the vaccinations and there was a constant stream of people.

I'm a man, no pain at all. I Did watch Mrs B have hers, the needles must be two, two and a half inches long and almost all the needle goes in, it more painful watching it than actually having it.

Re: Time to get your jab
At least yours had a point on it. After my flu jab I had a huge bruise which took about four weeks to disappear.
It played havoc with my modelling contracts.

Stephen, you and Poole boy must have had the needles they clean and reuse after re-sharpening on the back door step.
