Sell in May and go away?
With the market close to an all-time high, is this sound advice or just an old wives' tale?
Are we near the top or are there still some good gains to be had. What do you think?

I'd get out now, especially if you're in equities. The rise may continue for a little while but the word is there's a big fall coming.
Silver has gone down a lot recently, but that's expected to rise sharply before the end of the year. Might be worth a punt of, say, 5% of your holding....
Once the markets go back down, then go back in.

Yes, SS, I was referring to equities. Having had a rough time for a few years, they have done very well for me over the last 12 months but I sold 50% of them this afternoon. Time will tell!

Invesco Perpetual Income and High Income have done very well for me over the last couple of years but I've just bailed out of them. I've still got a few equities left, but they have not done at all well so I need to ride those out. Most of my pension is now in cash, waiting for the market to drop, then I'll go back in.kaymar wrote:Yes, SS, I was referring to equities.
