I think you could be right about Alex, but in fairness I suspect she believes that she has reached the end of the road.

I had that impression about Alex too. The way she talked about her body and the demands that were being made of her made me think that she wouldn't be too sorry if she was knocked out. I was surprised at the high score that Balvinder got for the Instant Dance but maybe I just don't know enough about the dancing expected. I agree that it may be Balvinder and Alex in the final two.

I agree about Balvinder’s instant dance. All she seemed to do was parade up and down swishing her dress around. But what do I know about dancing.

I’ll have you know I’ve won medals for grandad dancing although I need to be well lubricated before I take to the floor 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺😂
Unfortunately I am never sober enough to remember or be present for the medal ceremony 👍

No surprises last night apart from the comment from Johannes, which the media have picked up on, intimating that he is leaving Strictly - not altogether surprised as he has not looked happy for a few weeks.

One has to start wondering if there is more going on with Strictly that we are aware of.

I like a man who wears his heart on his sleeve, but he is taking it to the extreme

If he is going I hope he goes out on a high as he comes across as a really nice chap

Well, if you are going out go out go out on a high…Balvinder certainly did that imo.

So, take your pick, will it be George, Balvinder or Karen for the chop?

So, it’s hello Balvinder goodbye George.

I agree that George is favourite to go but I will bet OL's money on Amber being in the dance off - she has very little public support

If it wasn’t for the fact that I had a 9/2 winner this afternoon I’d be putting in a complaint…. it’s now 12.20 and I’m just about to watch the results show, albeit knowing the result. I’m gutted that I didn’t take the 20/1 about Karen winning the final.

Well after last night (or Saturday night to be exact) it is clear how the public voted

1 - Karen
2 - George
3 - Balvinder
4 - Lewis
5 - Amber

So unless one of the couples go seriously wrong next week then the dance off should be between Amber and Balvinder with Balvinder going home.

And again unless somebody screws up the winner will be Karen.

I think the problem with the dance off last night was that Amber was expecting it and Lewis wasn't meaning that they were both in different mindsets - and Katya looked none too pleased.

According to some of the newspaper reports this morning, it's as a result of the public disliking having contestants who are professional dancers and having West End experience as dancers. If this is so then Amber's days may be numbered but of course the Judges still have another week where they can save a contestant, presumably Amber again. One paper stated it was like having an amateur baking contest, like Bake Off and one of the contestants being a professional baker.

But then again the papers hate the success of Strictly.

The programme isn't a serious dance competition, it's Saturday night entertainment. If all the competitors were complete novices or no hopers like Les Dennis and Nick Knowles it would be so tedious. And who would I rather watch - Amber and Lewis, or Thomas Skinner and Ann Widdecombe? I know, tough choice.

But yes, the judges will get Amber to the final, but she won't win because then it's all down to the audience, so my money's now on Karen.

Just read that Zoe Ball is quitting her Saturday afternoon programme on Radio 2 so had me wondering if she might become a new host for SCD, after all she has been a contestant, hosted both the spin off programme and some of the live tours

As long as it’s not someone identifying as whatever or acts in a way that is demeaning to either sex then I’m not too bothered.

I feel rather sorry for Amber, I know she has had some professional training, but the BBC knew that when she was invited onto the show. So she should be judged on her performances alone, and she is undoubtedly the best dancer on the show, and fully deserves to win if she does the best dances in the final.

In that situation it means that the likes of Karen and George are just cannon fodder for the professionals. The winner is at the mercy of the voting public so it’s not always the best dancer who wins.
Personally I think it would be much fairer if all the contestants had no previous dancing experience which would create a level playing field and cut out the anomaly of professional vs amateur.
I do feel sympathy for Amber The Beeb knew her background and should carry responsibility for her situation. It’s deplorable she is getting negative publicity for something she has not created.

I would agree that she should be judged on her performances but as we well know dance ability is only one factor when it comes to the public vote, and on that note Karen has it all. It could be argued that the best dancer has already be eliminated as Lewis was an outstanding dancer.
And to think, I was but a short bike ride away from having £10 win at 20/1 on Karen to win the final…anyone got a tissue?

I personally think they should do away with the public vote and replace them with reginal panels made up with people like me who knows how to pick a winner. :D
