Perceval Legallois has a decent chance although I would probably go with Iceberg Theory who was pulled up Feb 25 in a race won by Perceval but didn't seem to like the distance in his last race.
I think maybe it's a tad ambitious to think that Olympic Man will win his first cross country you'll have seen he has been pulled up 3 times in his last five races but who knows it might happen ....

Lets hope you get a winning result with your other two choices
Good to see Lossiemouth won the Boodles Champion Hurdle today from Golden Ace
Back tomorrow morning with my thoughts on the classic race 2000 Guineas at Newmarket & my choices...
That's right I have more than one anti-post bet

Hi Onelife, So, today's the big race at Newmarket and I think I may have mentioned I made an anti-post bet for Distant Storm last year @ 20/1. Seems I was not the only one because I've heard of a couple of other people who also got that great price.

I also have made three other anti-post bets on other horses @66/1 that I thought might have a chance of winning the 2000 guineas, just before they had their first race of the year knowing the odds would drop if they won....two were not as good as I hoped and have been withdrawn and the third I might have a chance with...thesecretadversary....this is the one I'm annoyed with myself about

I was in a Paddy Power shop in a place I don't normally visit...and I saw Dorset, Flushing Meadows, Power Blue & Thesecretadversay were all running in the same Group 3 race. I just had a feeling that he might do well (& was proved right the next day when he beat Power Blue ) so I handed my slip to the guy behind the desk with my usual £1 e/way bet and asked for the price...he said 66/1 so I said Ok. He gave me the slip back put it in my wallet and didn't check it ....silly mistake....One day later when he won at Leopardstown and with a smile looked at my ticket which then changed as I realised the guy didn't put the 66/1 on the ticket

So today I have 2 chances in the 2000 guineas...Distant Storm & Thesecretadversay.

HI Pompey, I may be wrong but if you placed your bet on “Thesecretadversary” it would more than likely be an antipost bet and may be automatically accepted at the 66/1)

As for that other Donkey “Distant Storm” I think it has a great chance so much so that I’ve had £5 win.
I generally don’t bet on these types of races because you never know if they have trained on from two years olds. The thing about “Distant Storm” is that he looked like he needed another year under his saddle as he is a big horse with a lot of scope for improvment…I think he will give us both a good run for our money.

I'm probably wrong but I just have a feeling you might be interested in a horse running at Goodwood 14:05
The name seems to ring a bell

Ok so Arisaig came 4th but is also showing as a runner in tomorrows Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket
If Johnston decides not to withdraw her then price looks to be about 14/1 but I'd be surprised if she runs..as it's a Group 2 race

Saturday Results

Percival Legalleis - Pu— never seen with a chance

Olympic Man - Fell

Daily Present - PU never seen with a chance

Hello Neighbour - 1st -12/1 battled it out till the end…got up on the line.

So what do we say in these situations…it’s never over till the last one has run.

Pompey…Re: Distant Storm- I think you’ll see him stepping up in distance in the future as he appeared to be struggling to go their pace…he wasn’t stopping at the end which implies 1 mile 2 furlongs would suit…we’ll wait and see.

So what’s going to win the big one tomorrow?

You did so well with Hello Neighbour, covered all todays bets and some profit to pay for your next bets....great stuff well done

I got lucky with Distant Storm, his 3rd place will mean I won't loose out on my other bet thesecretadversay who came 5th.

Now as to tomorrow...I do like Precise a lot but won't bet on her at those odds but also looking at previous stats it would seem every winner in the last few years has always had a run in the current season...that would also rule out The Prettiest Star, Venetian Sun & Abashiri :o
Seems to be a lot to like with the French horse My Highness and if I didn't have a bet already might have taken a chance on her.

Just before she ran in the Nell Gwyn Group 3 last month I made my anti-post e/way bet for Innis Mor @50/1 for this race but she didn't do as well as I hoped and only came 4th....even so her odds have dropped to 20/1 now so maybe if I get lucky she might get a place
I also had a small e/way anti-post bet...on Rose Ghaiyyath @ 50/1 whose odds have dropped to 22/1 however I think the ground won't be to her liking & also she has Billy Loughnane onboard.....wouldn't it be crazy if he won the 2000 guineas & the 1000 guineas

Thanks, Pompey, I made around £56 profit on the day which didn’t look likely until Hello Neighbour popped in. My lucky 15 returned £12.50 and my late bet on Joyeux Machin boosted the winnings.

I looked at the fillies race tomorrow and have decided to have a fun bet so have staked £3 win on “The Prettiest Star,”... that was before you put the mockers on it with your stats. :(

I agree with you about Precise. The trainer A P O’Brien has an unmatched record in the race so it’ll come as no surprise if she romps home,

Lets hope between us we can spoil the O’Brien party

Hi Onelife, yes that late bet on Joyeux Machin was a great move, didn't know until after the event he was running
I'll be home, relaxed and watching the big race.....and then it'll be time to start packing I guess
As you know I'll be away next week but am fully aware of the races at Chester on Wednesday...the Cheshire Oaks & Chester Vase Stakes
Maybe I should slip over to the bookies and make an anti-post bet on Sugar Island, Prizeland or maybe A La Prochaine for the oaks before they race ?
Just not sure which one to pick.
Also James J braddock runs in the Vase, but I also like DelMar & Maltese cross all who are entered in the Derby....hmmm decisions decisions

Hi Ponpey, As you well know Chester is a similar configuration to that of Newbury (left handed with tightish bends, it is for that reason I wouldn’t be looking any further than “I’m The One” (Chester Cup) who looked very impressive on its last run ( Newbury) ok it’s no price but perhaps doubling it up with something in the Chester Vase might be the way to go. I can’t see that there will be much between several of the runners in the Chester Vase so “Mr Vettori” currently 16/1 might be worth throwing into the double.

Wishing you calm seas on your next trip out to the bookies…just tell your wife that you're stocking up on Stergeon…and try and do it when she starts the packing…..don’t say I never give you good tips
