Happy Weekend...

Unread post by JenniC »

Friday again, nearly the weekend, but starts today for me, just about to get up and off to London with my daughter for some serious shopping for our cruise 3 weeks today, perfume, evening dress for her, Vans for grandson (he is trusting us to buy them) and whatever takes my fancy for me :D Pasta and a glass of wine together on way home.

BGT Finals BBQ at son and DIL 's tomorrow, and granddaughter is back from Southampton uni for the summer.

Posh summery themed BBQ on Sunday for our best friends, setting a beautiful table outside, melon, orange and mint starter, Mexican salmon with a mango salsa and paprika potatoes, raspberry roulade - yummy!!!

All in all a a great weekend. Happy Days

Sounds like a good weekend Jenni.
Will probably also go for a bit of swimming and Atillah (my trainer) is expecting me to make an appearance at the gym.

Apart from that we will be going to see 'After Earth' this weekend at the flicks ... wash the car ... prepare for our holiday in a week or so. ... and start my next assignment for my latest degree (work is paying for me to do a degree on psychology (focussing on online behavioural patterns) ... something I have always had an interest in but now get paid to do.

Playing a bit of tennis with my 8year old grandson this afternoon. Supper for some cruising friends this evening. (can't tell what we are having as they read this. They might not want to come  ). Saturday to town to get Swiss Francs and other bits and pieces in preparation for our Railway holiday in the Bernese Oberland starting Tuesday. On one day we will visit the ski village where we spent our honeymoon 50 years ago. Sunday is a day of rest! Hope this lovely weather lasts.

Jenni what a lovely weekend you have ahead of you - your BBQ for your friends sounds yummy :)

The trip to London shopping is the icing on the cake for us girls  hope you get all you want (not necessarily need of course ;) - those three weeks will fly by now to the cruise

My weekend is the usual pub meal tonight with friends - may be shopping tomorrow and lots of sitting in the sun I hope.

Whatever anyone is up to have a great one

Mainly tinkering in the garden and maybe a walk or two and a picnic?

Awaiting the dreaded 'for sale' board (and comments from neighbours too!). More importantly - time to start to consider which clothes to take on next cruise!

I detest this time of year.....No football.

So tomorrow I will go for a walk and on Sunday, weather permitting, go to cricket down at Guildford  Role on August.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

We are about to start decorating our new bedroom and en suite as the builders have nearly finished - so they say!

Apart from that, more garden design and planting, sorting out clothes for Barbados next weekend and a couple of BBQs.

The rest of the time I shall lie out in the sunshine. It's been wall to wall sunshine here or over a week now.

Hoping the weather stays fine as we are going to a summer fete tomorrow where the son in law is playing the trumpet in his brass band and then on Sunday we are off to Sheffield for our grandsons 4 th birthday. They are having a Spider-Man theme with a bouncy castle so no rain please !

Working tomorrow morning - Aaaargh. Then sister in law's golden wedding bash in the afternoon and evening. Sunday looks like being a catch-up day on the allotment. Loads of stuff to get planted out - have to look out a long t-shirt or it will be sunburnt builder's bum !!!

Despite the cloudy weather we have had a pleasant afternoon at our allotment.
Rolls Royce hold their annual air show right alongside the allotments and it has become a regular thing for families to get together to watch the event bringing along a few bottles, cans and food.
A spitfire, hurricane and some nifty stunt flying made it very enjoyable.
