Bon Voyage messages....

Hi Guys,

I have put this in General Chat for a reason..... hopefully it will stay here for people to see it.

If you would like your name adding to a Bon Voyage message, would it be possible for you to put your name and cruise number on this post please and then a few days prior to sailing, if I am able, I will post Bon Voyage messages to you.

Hi Jack, there is a Bon Voyage section which is very under used, maybe a reminder in general chat every couple of weeks to remind people it is there.

Great idea by the way, I wanted to wish someone Bon Voyage a few weeks ago but didn't because I didn't know if they wanted it known they were away.

Yes not long now. I am wondering about the weather, as at the moment the Baltic appears to be having super temperatures BUT all could change .

Anne D - can you put your cruise number down please.... I was going to do the Bon Voyage in the proper section like Monacled Mutineer did. My thoughts were that if people put their cruises on here then they could be named as in the past rather than just doing a general bon voyage.

Unless posters just want to use this one instead and forget the other one. Let me know which way you want to go.

I don't mind how you do it although I quite like the idea of this method. Best to go with the consensus of opinion I suppose.

Yes, you will be heading one way in Southampton and we will be going the other way!

We've got some smashing memories of our QE outing last year for the Diamond Jubilee, we had an aft balcony (6202) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

If you are doing Stockholm, beware the dive bombing seagulls when you sail out of port if you are on your balcony!

Why don't people put their cruise details under the Bon Voyage section then others can add their names to it rather than it get lost in General Chat over several months, then as the cruise is about to sail you will have all the names in one place Jack and you can just transfer the names to a Bon Voyage message and post on General Chat where more are likely to see it.

I'm not sure how MM used to collate his information I assume if someone mentioned a cruise he made a note of it, if it is possible to have a sticky how about a message saying something along the lines of ..... If you would like to be included in the Bon Voyage message for your cruise, please add your name and cruise number under the appropriate section of Bon Voyage, I must admit I miss not seeing who is going on their "jollies"

There are quite a few people on this site trying different cruise lines including river cruises and I hope that everyone feels comfortable to put details down for Jack to use when the time comes. It was always nice when MM posted his Bon voyage list.
Not only does it give you chance to wish someone a happy sailing but if it is a useful way to ask advice when they return.

I also wondered about giving details if the cruises were not P&O . Mine are now mostly Cunard. Can you confirm if you want to include other cruise lines or keep only to P&O as this forum is mainly for people who cruise with that company.

Hi there

I dont mind doing other cruise lines aswell but I only have the P & O brochure so you will have to give me a date aswell as the holiday number and if you like where the cruise is going.

Once I have collated the info off this thread, I will then put them into the Bon Voyage nearer the time and people can add their bit aswell. I shall do it at least a couple of days before the ship/river boat sails.

Unfortunately I dont have time to go through different threads to see if anyone has mentioned they are going on cruises and I thought that if we are to continue with MM's tradition that this could be the way to go.

It's a great idea jack, used to wonder how MM had the time to collate all the information to wish everyone 'Bon voyage' but it was really nice. We are off on Azura in 6 weeks time ( hurrah ) we are doing b2b cruises a318n and a319n , and would love it if you would include us in the Bon voyage section. Thanks !

Good to revive the tradition of MM. We are on J312, 4th September to Central Med. I have posted on the Meeting Place for Arcadia, but had not response. Looks like a lonely cruise with no forum members to meet. Having read your posts about Arcadia, Jack, is this the cruise that you are considering?

I think MM used a search engine to find anyone who had mentioned the cruise number - though of course if someone had started a roll call thread - that helped enormously!
