Dual carriageways speed limit is 70mph for cars and 60mph for caravans, same as for motorways.Quizzical Bob wrote:60 on motorways and dual carriageways, 50 on other roads, unless further restricted. Hi Alan,
Yes, I agree with you - anyway, we have set a date by which we wish to have the situation resolved either we will move this year or it will be Plan B in 2016.
Our current home is lovely, I would be really very sad to leave it, but I can't stand stair lifts, and so as we just happen to have discovered this other place we'll try for it.
Maybe it is just not meant to be - but it would be nice.

Em, there are a couple of bungalows for sale in Filton Avenue - it would cut down your journeying time to Cribbs quite considerably!!

Hi Alan,
That's really kind and thoughtful of you - but I can't really see that happening!

I don't do "kind and thoughtful" - I was merely thinking that if you were there, it would be easier for me to lob a brick through the front window as I ride past

while the postings on caravans are at times interesting, at times amusing, they're WAY off thread. If you want to discuss 'vans, why don't you start another thread?

One house we used to own had a clause in the Covenants (and those are not for always DK) that it was not allowed to erect, keep, store or cause to be erected, kept or stored .... a caravan or a boat of any type. The Covenants also said that we were not allowed to keep pigs - so I wound up the then neighbours by getting some piglets and a sheep - the twit duly complained, which was fine because they were in fact garden ornaments!

this might be a silly question, but do you mean models of pigs? If so, couldn't he tell the difference??Boris+ wrote:One house we used to own had a clause in the Covenants (and those are not for always DK) that it was not allowed to erect, keep, store or cause to be erected, kept or stored .... a caravan or a boat of any type. Did you get some gnomes to keep the piggies and sheep company? I would have done so. Mr. Fox might have gotten to them.
Gnomes with ammunition.
BTW, how does one erect a boat or caravan? Maybe an ark would have been exempt?

Em.... there are Windsor two apartments for sale in the house where we live, if the house you are after doesnt come off...
http://search.savills.com/property-deta ... swds110161
Its very very nice here...huge gardens, fab grounds.
Although I must admit I miss the huge balcony at Caswell bay, for having afternoon teas and drinks..
But the gardens are much better for having family and friends around for parties !!!!

Sorry, I should have said - the piglets and the sheep were from a garden centre, and were made out of cement sort of stuff.
As to how does one 'erect a boat' I don't have the foggiest idea - that was just the wording. Maybe it was to stop coracle builders (but then that would have been 'a challenge' as the Mayor of Fishguard, 'Kenny Twit' used to say to his pal Geraint p***ock - the well known coracle man).
Bye heck that's brought back some memories!

Hi Sue,
That's very kind of you, but Windsor is not for me - it's ok for a visit, but that's all we do.
Thanks all the same.

I must check that out for next year when Alex hires the fecking motor home again for the grandsons and him...(im NOT going again)
Tell you what though...when we were walking along the Thames on monday we passed some narrow boats/barges.. Alex said...I suppose hiring a boat like that for the boys is the next step ......
