Noddy, If you don't believe me ring them up and ask, but as I have said it only applies to RCI group cruise lines, and possibly only the launch period.noddy10 wrote:States on Bolsover Cruise Club website that they reserve the right to charge 1.5% for credit card charges and we have booked quiet a few cruises over they years with them and when asked they have always said there is a charge.

I will look into this further as they definately charged us. We had no choice but to pay as I had left it until the deadline to pay and wouldn't have had time to send a cheque. It is for this, and other reasons why we would never ever book with them again.

towny44 you are very prickly I never once said I did not believe you just stating the fact that it states on their website that they have the right to charge 1.5% for use of credit cards and that I have booked numerous cruises, albeit with P&O, and they have always stated there is a charge on credit cards. Some people on this forum are very aggressive and seem only to ever want to cause aggro from very straightforward posts I am afraid it is very slowly heading the same way as P&O forum.

We won't book a cruise if there are CC charges, in fact we won't book a holiday with these charges. Out of ten TA you would call two will not charge. It's a matter of how you deal with it. Incidentally P&O do charge but not for debit cards.
Ken there is always added value in not paying CC charges. On a world cruise that's a heck of a lot of money to pay in CC charges and even on a short cruise a saving is a saving weather it's thousand or a fiver it's a saving worth having.

I always pay with my debit card, just ensure there is enough money in the account. You are only talking about one month before you have to pay off the cc anyway?

55 days if you time it right. But with a cashback CC you can also get up to 1.25% cashback at the end of the year if you pay it off in full every month. That's quite a sum over a year if you use it for absolutely everything - holidays, shopping, petrol, etc.
