Just my opinion too, but even if Diana wasn't a saint, she was 19 year old and in love with her Prince. He treated her abysmally. Had she been a few years older she may well have learnt how to win his heart. Very sad. I have no time for him and hope the monarchy passes to William, as I think he might be great.

Well there's always one person who thinks maybe a bit differently to the majority on a thread, and today (surprise!) it's me.

I hold HRH Prince Charles in the highest possible esteem, I find no fault in him, and I so extremely glad that he is happily married to the Duchess of Cornwall. It's grand to see him to happy and content.

Whilst I wish Her Majesty long life and good health, I look forward to the day when Prince Charles attends his own coronation, with the Duchess of Cornwall firmly by his side.

I wish them both long life, brilliant health, happiness and contentment.

Em :D

I happen to agree with you Em. I look forward to seeing your name in next year's Queen's Birthday honours list.

Diana might have started of as a naive young girl but she grew into a manipulative woman who knew how to look after herself.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, we should be thankful that a result of the marriage is two fine young men, William and Harry. Plus, with a grandchild on the way, the monarchy should, hopefully, be secured to the end of the century.

In the fullness of time I look forward to Charles and Camilla being crowned King and Queen. I think Charles is basically a good man, and Camilla hasn't put a foot wrong in the public domain since starting public life as Charles' wife.

I think they'd be worthy monarchs.

I have mellowed towards the royal family in recent years and have a lot of respect and affection for the Queen. Charles is a fool who has brought disgrace to the family, who could forget 'tampongate'? Him and Camilla are a couple of selfish, chinless wonders who cared nothing for the pain they brought their respective families. It will be a sad day for me when he takes the throne. Love the boys though.

I agree with you HK, the pair of them are shameless adulterers both had children who no doubt had to face ridicule because if their parents selfish attitude. Diana might not have been perfect but she was pushed over the edge by a callous unloving husband.
I hope our lovely Queen reigns for many more years.

This is getting a habit but I agree with you :D
Also I agree with HK. I don't like PC, I think he would like to go back to the good old days when we commoners are nothing but serfs. I really hope he is by-passed for William.
I recently watched a documentary I recorded some time ago about the Queen's grandparents and the Queen was heavily influenced by Queen Mary who was a very shrewd lady and probably saved the Royal family in the UK from suffering the same fate as the Tsar and his family and many other Royal families across Europe.

Hmm, seeing as you've brought this up admiral, am I the only one not 100% convinced that 'the crash' wasn't a hit?

HK................................... yes, you are!!

I must say Charles is highly respected by many in this part of the country. He came up here on more than one occasion during the floods and also during the foot & mouth epidemic a few years ago. He used to come quite frequently and unannounced and stayed at a farm bed and breakfast in Borrowdale.
I was taught to be cautious

Hi Helen,

I have lived in Paris - and I believe that the crash was not a crash. Don't forget - the vehicle couldn't have been going all that fast because photographers on put-put bikes were keeping up with it. Given the distance involved and the route involved I can't accept that it was a crash.

However, I don't know what happened, why it happened etc., and I refused absolutely to speculate.

I'm not convinced either Helen but there have been many conspiracy theories and none have been proved so we have to accept what we have been told however I still think there were many unanswered questions so you do have to question why that was but I guess we will never find out.

William and Harry accept it was a tragic accident and that is probably all that matters and for that reason alone I hope any theories will remain in the past but who knows

You're probably right Batty. I can't think why anybody would have a problem with the mother of our future king marrying into a the family of an antiestablishment muslim billionaire, or with her 'meddling' in Angola. I can only leave this post up for 5 minutes in case MI6 are looking in.

Dear Darknightie,

I hope I'm still going strong when I'm the rum buggers age.

Conspiracy theory...all a bit out of the day to day sphere of this ordinary chap...though funnily enough I thought we had a jar of marmalade in our fridge but I couldn't find it at breakfast this morning...do you think it could have been eaten by aliens??!!

it was probably stolen by the elite special forces unit that offed Diana, they were probably a bit peckish after yet another world shaking event, which they did not participate in ,as they do not exist

There was something very iffy about the 'suicide' of Dr David Kelly too.
