Seeing our children happy, especially our eldest daughter at times, who has had so much to contend with the last 12 years with very severe mental health illness.

As much as I love my cruise holidays I have to agree with Gill that the happiness of my sons gives me the most pleasure - bringing up children is not easy but I give myself a pat on the back - my two have turned out to be loving caring boys and now they are parents themselves they have given me the added pleasure of grandchildren :)

Of course now that my youngest son and family have become cruise addicts I guess you could say I have the best of both worlds - six weeks today we will be a day into our cruise together

.....watching the plants from my late mother's garden as they start to flower in my garden. I don't claim to be a great gardener, but my mother certainly could grown anything. So when she died in March age 98 and an half, I dug up bits of plants that meant a lot to me and brought them home, plus houseplants which were nearly dead from neglect. I brought home a root of rhubarb and everyone told me that it would not grow. We planted it, put a tub over it and within 6 weeks we had enough forced rhubarb for three crumbles. The African Violet is now covered in flowers. The Arum Lily she gave me years ago, and which had never flowered is now displaying two flowers and another which will open soon. All the plants which are now in my garden are flourishing and will flower soon. It gives me great happiness to know that I have not lost her lovely cottage garden and it will live on my own garden.
