The saddos are out in force again

Unread post by Kendhni »

Scrabble app changes anger players on Facebook
Are some poor diddums' have lost their gaming history, we need to wipe away their tears ... jeez if that was the most important thing I had to worry about I would be over joyed. What is it about people and meaningless online counters and stats ... facebook friends, twitter followers, thanks counts, post counts, likes etc. etc. ... how does someone get to be so sad and detached from reality that these things become important to them?

Why shouldn't they complain if it has changed?

Doesnt mean that they are sad or detached from reality, just how you moaning about them doesnt.

I am sure that you moan about computer related issues.

Ken, the thing about FB that drives me mental is when someone posts something along the lines of 'having a great time with the kids at the cinema'. Well get off your bloody mobile then and watch the film!

There was an advert on tv recently for a 'game' thing - and people could elect themselves as mayor and design their own home and spend their miserable free time with their little noses pressed up against this dollop of plastic in a completely lala world --------- and they pay for it???? Give me strength.

What would have happened in WW2 - 'sorry about the war sir, I'm in my plastic fantasy world!' ... I think not. :sarcasm:

What on earth is wrong with reality - real friends, real flowers (for which people might actually have to do some physical exercise and dig, and actually get their diddums little hands soiled) etc?

There is also nothing wrong with real food (not the out of a packet or sachet type), a real walk; yip - that's what I like - reality.

Em :)

Good grief lighten up its the modern world people are enjoying themselves.

Everyone doesnt have to have the same interests as the people on here.

What a critical bunch of people you lot are.

Each generation does different things.

Stick in the muds!!!

Some people never start a thread that isnt a moan abut something or somebody.

This thread is a perfect example of moaning for moaning sake.

Well at the time of writing with 67 views and half a dozen replies, it seems that most aren't interested in this topic. What I find sad more than interesting is that some people appear to have a superior patronising attitude and are very critical and judgemental towards others - sadly reflecting society's prejudices and judgements. What skin is it off anyone's nose how others spend their time? And why be so scathing? What does it matter? And why do these things matter so much to someone who clearly has no need for such things ? It's clear to me that some people create topics for no other reason but to engender responses and rev up a quiet forum. I knew of someone who did that - even pretended to be someone else so as to argue with himself on the thread and thus create a bit of a buzz. Sad really. Oh, and before anyone jumps in - I do know I don't have to read it, but you do don't you? And then you discover that it's not very nice.

Helen, thank you for your opinion. My answer? So what? It doesn't matter one jot whether I am a lone voice or whether there just happens to be another member who thinks along the same lines. I'm not a sheep, never have been and am proud to have the courage to voice my opinions and no put-downs will change that. I've always held the view that if I agreed with the flock then that would mean I am not the person I am.

Considering we all spend time on an online forum, perhaps we shouldn't be throwing the first stone when it comes to what is important to people in an online world.

Whatever ken. Amusing to see some backtracking there so you don't offend others. But I'm sure they are not fooled. Irony. Nice try but as i thought, a topic just posted for effect.

It was a topic that had us rolling about in fits of laughter at lunch time ... I thought it was hilarious, but some are purely posting because of their preconceived ideas rather than understanding..,, why is it people always assume someone is moaning, irony is lost on some.

Sorry mo, no back tracking just some totally missing the humour.

This whole thread has cracked me up so now I'm not sure if I'm a nerd or a :northerner. Can I have a triple word score though?

You are probably correct that it took a bit of know how to find the humour ... The converse of your argument though is that only a fool would have taken it seriously .
