I'm looking for a POWERFULL hand held steam cleaner. This is for cleaning out those hard to reach bits in the shower that need cleaning with a toothbrush sized implement.
Most that I have come across just let the steam escape at a very low pressure. I need something that will blast the grime out.
Any thoughts would be very appreciated. I don't want to make another mistake.
Many years ago I bought a machine called a 'Steam Buggy'. Its a similar size to a Henry round vac. It came with different attachments, one for steaming wallpaper to make it easier to strip; and there is also a fine nozzle which blasts difficult to clean corners etc. It came with a plastic measuring cup and there was a screw cap in the top of the machine to dispense the water. Wait a few minutes and you are ready to go. I can't remember where I got it from but if you are able, google steam cleaner and you should get some results. Hope this helps.
Forget about your steam cleaners and get yourself down to Tesco’s and purchase a bottle of “Dettol Mould & mildew remover”...It’s brilliant..Just spray it on, leave for an hour then shower off...Job done!
It also kills anything it comes in contact with...well it does in our shower room
Thanks for your replies. I have tried mould remover and various other scrubbing tactics.
I was really looking for something that really blows away build up of unsightly mould in between the tiles etc. There are many on the market - but none that will give you a "blast" of steam.
We have had a Polti steam cleaner for several years and that will do a blast of steam - however it more the size of a vacuum cleaner so is probably not what you want (and it cost an arm and a leg)
Just noticed this which might be what you are looking for
We also use Dettox Mould & Mildew Cleaner and, as Onelife says, it is brilliant and removes all stains in the shower. It contains bleach and if you spray it on the tiles it brings the grouting up really white.
