What do you do on your Birthday

Unread post by Dark Knight »

I am not a great one for celebrating my birthdays and tend to treat them as any other day.
However a few people have said this is a bit miserable and I should celebrate

so forumeers , what do you do to celebrate your birthdays??

If it's a "special" one usually book a cruise   otherwise it's pretty much like any other day.

Drink too much wine and spend the day lying to my children about my age :(

For a "special" birthday, such as the one I had a fortnight ago, we always go on holiday AND while there go somewhere special for a meal " on the day".

If it's any old birthday, we just go out for a meal, although we have cruised then a couple of times.

Mine is usually spent in the sour of France outside our caravan. The locals put out all the flags for me. Last year was very dull, I was recovering in hospital after my operation.

Usually just presents  from the grandkids followed by a few glasses (bottles) of Sauv Blanc and a nice meal. Currently tracking Getaways in late September for this years though.

When I worked I always took my birthday and the following day off. We always go somewhere nice for a meal and stay overnight.

In recent years - if not on a cruise, go to pub. Not really bothered to make a big deal of it.

Sometimes I like a day out on my birthday but if I'm honest I prefer to be home and have people calling in. My 50th in April was lovely, a day out in Bath on my birthday eve and then home for the actual day. Lots of family and friends popping in and lovely phone calls etc. In the evening 30 special people joined me for a meal in a local restaurant including some wonderful cruise friends. My birthday boxing day was great as well, the cruise friends who had stayed in a local hotel came round for birthday cake and in the evening Steve and I went to see my favourite singer/songwriter in concert. One birthday but many many happy memories.

A day off, unless the week-end and then to lunch at a fine restaurant.

This year was 'The Pass' near Horsham, W.Sussex.

Sue, Sounds a good enough reason to celebrate -- again. Hope you both have a super day.

Nothing.

During the course of the year something crops up, usually involving food, and we say let's do that as our birthday treat ... we have four or five a year usually.

Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

If it's a birthday with a zero on the end we tend to do something special. For my 50th we were on Oceana for a Panama canal cruise, and for Mr Gill's 60th we were on Aurora for a cruise to Venice.

Otherwise we tend to go to a West End show or out for a meal on the nearest weekend to the birthday.
