I've always thought that smokers could wear a spaceman type helmet and then they could keep breathing the smoke in until it's all gone. Then they can take the helmet off. Can't think why it doesn't catch on ....

Ok time to leave us smokers alone.

My gripe is women (and maybe some of the men) who apply half a bottle of perfume before they go out.
I have an allergy to some of the very strong perfumes and suffer with headaches, runny noses and eyes
when I come into contact them.

Why girls do you have to put so much perfume on? I'm sure I cannot be the only person who suffers this way and a cruise ship on formal night can turn into a hell hole for me - especially when using the lifts.

It is said that if you can smell perfume on yourself, then you have applied too much. Some perfumes make me cough. It is nice to smell a lovely waft of fragrance, but if there is no other fresh air, it can be cloying.

Some people don't even realise how dreadful their perfume smells ( same applies to aftershave ) just because something smells nice on one person doesn't necessarily mean it will on you.

Sad to say but I have on occasions come across fellow cruisers, who appear to find basic personal hygiene challenging. Far worse than ciggy smoke of the over use of perfume products.

My son has a heightened sense of smell and when we get out of the lift he can always tell me who of our fellow passengers are of the 'Great Unwashed Variety'

I prefer the smell of perfume than B O - there is nothing worse than that from some people on ships...

So, to get back to smoking, I scattered a few damp, aromatic pecan chippings on the charcoal while BBQing a whole chicken. The neighbours were queuing up to say what a lovely smell it was making as the smoke drifted around the neighbourhood in the calm of a perfect summer's evening. :)

I used to put sprigs of thyme on ours. It doesn't work with a gas BBQ though.
