Sartorial elegance

Unread post by ChesterfieldJohn »

Hi,

I thought that due to us having a few days of nice weather I should clean my patio before Severn Trent impose a hosepipe ban :)

So I get out my Karcher and start cleaning it donning my wellies with my shorts and old t-shirt, so is this the height of sartorial elegance, wellies and shorts :)

Just to make the picture a little clearer my wellies have the top rolled down like Jimmy Cricket's and have NCB stamped on the back.

If I donned a jacket, would I pass as ok for semi-formal nights?

:D

Only if you were able to clear the blocked toilets - does NBC stand for 'nit-picking bitching commies'?

Possibly, but what does NCB stand for? I can tell you what it used to stand for in Scotland, but it would probably be red-penned

I know that expression as well :)

In this case it stands for National Coal Board.

Can't be any worse than me in my wellies and 40 year old anorak while washing the car.

Julie gets a gardener to do our patios ... She complains about the mess i make ... Even the dogs seem to get splattered in gungy stuff when I do it

Tee hee, the first picture I conjured up in my mind was that of the Monty Python character E.B. Gumby - all you were missing John was a knotted hankie on your head !

PS: doubt you'd get into the Dining Room lol

Hi John - now if you had a donkey jacket (please say you remember them  ) also stamped with the letters NCB you would have the perfect outfit :sarcasm:

Would it pass as semi-formal well no doubt our expert MM will tell us it it passes muster

My father worked at the local colliery before they closed it and had matching wellies and jacket stamped with NCB although I imagine today the last thing you needed was a coat

This warm weather makes us do silly things doesn't it ;)

Hi, I never had a jacket, my Father in Law worked at Markham Colliery and they were his wellies, but he never wore them so he gave them to me.

Bet they are Antiques now.

Ken I am our gardener :)

Mo the hanies aint big enough to cover my head and being bald they slip off lol
