BT Home Hub
For anyone who uses a BT Home Hub - BT have recently brought Home Hub 4 which, it is claimed, is better than HH3 (which was better than HH2) and will give better coverage and signals foe wi-fi.
This new hub is currently available as an upgrade for £35 as opposed to the full price of £109 - you can also get if free if you upgrade your BT package.

Re: BT Home Hub
we are now using hh3 and have found it to be very good a lot less dropping off than hh2. we will probably wait until bt offer hh4 free as they did for this one. got a phone call out of the blue and they gave us the choice of a free upgrade! now where have we heard that before
only this time it was true....

Re: BT Home Hub
How do I tell if I have a BT home hub 2 or 3?
There doesn't seem to any sign of this on my unit.
I really could do with something with a greater range.

Howard ...hh3 is written on the base...well it is on mine
I switched to bt from aol as it kept dropping out not good when trying to work from home, since we switched to bt it has been fine.

Re: BT Home Hub
Our Home Hub 3 drops ALL THE TIME! BT have replaced it twice because they said they have an extremely finite life, so maybe aHH4 will be better.

Re: BT Home Hub
I have the HH3 hub and have recently upgraded my account usage from 40gb per month to unlimited, for an additional £5 per month.
I took the opportunity at the time to upgrade to the HH4 hub, it still cost me the £35, however what they don't tell you, until near the end of the application, is there is a £6.95 delivery charge for the new hub.
All being well my new hub arrives this Friday, and new account goes live midnight on Friday
I did go through a period when my HH3 kept dropping, but its been fine of late.
What annoys me at the moment, is when using my IPad at home, it used to connect automatically to the hub, of late it goes to mobile Wi Fi connection page, when I switch it on. I have to go into settings and change it to the hub connection.

At some point your ipad connected to a 'wifi hotspot' which happens to be in range of your house, maybe when you're home system was down for some reason. After that, the 'hotspot' comes higher up the list of preferred networks in your ipad's system, so it defaults to it
If you go to 'Settings' then 'Wifi' you'll see a list of available networks. Choose the one you DON"T want to connect to (by pressing the little blue arrow on the right) and a new page of settings will appear. At the top of this page is the option ''Forget this network''
Choose that option and you shouldn't have the problem again.
Hope it works.

Thanks for that, I am writing this on the IPad, and when I switched it on this morning it went straight to the WiFi connection, have carried out what you suggested, I am sure that will do the trick.sumdumbloke wrote:Hello DelDelboy wrote:I have the HH3 hub and have recently upgraded my account usage from 40gb per month to unlimited, for an additional £5 per month.

Thanks again, it used to get on my nerves keep having to change the setting, especially as I spend at least 95% of my time on the IPad, as apposed to our home computer.

Re: BT Home Hub
New HH arrived last Thursday and am impressed with its speed and, so far, reliability - only rebooted itself once which is normal for a new BT HH.
I am though somewhat disappointed with its range - no better (possibly worse) than HH2

Mine arrived lat week, also impressed with speed, don't know what the range is, but I can sit out in the garden and use the IPad no problem, if I sit on our 2 seater garden swing, the wooden roof on the swing shields the screen from the sun.david63 wrote:New HH arrived last Thursday and am impressed with its speed and, so far, reliability - only rebooted itself once which is normal for a new BT HH.
