Re: Mel Smith RIP
Just seen that news, sad - although I have to say that he was not one of my most favourite comedians but he was quite a good actor.

I still remember his gorilla sketch with Rowan Atkinson and Pamela Stephenson on Not The 9o'clock News. Classic comedy. He was also very amusing in the Smith and Jones sketches. Lovely memories of a talented man.

Re: Mel Smith RIP
I remember a cat food ad with Mel & Griff doing the cats' voices in their talking heads style.
Griff: I never get to eat my Kit-e-Kat - the dog eats it.
Mel (somewhat sniffly): I blame the owners.
Griff: No, it's definitely the dog.

Re: Mel Smith RIP
I was quite shocked to hear this news - always used to enjoy his programmes.
At one point the TV shows were recorded in a local studio, and often the 'Chatham, Rochester and Gillingham News' was used as a prop in the sketches.
