P & O Website Problems

Unread post by JillD66 »

Anyone else experiencing problems with P & O website over the past few days?

We booked a cruise on 1st August through Bolsover - they said the official site was down and called us back to verify booking.

Since then - it took me an hour to book 4 trips on the cruise personaliser section last night - it was so slow, I tried phoning but was put on hold!

Also cant get into my P & O account at all this morning and phone line still very busy. Does that indicate lots of customers or insufficient staff?

they announced on FB that they had probs, and later updated to say it was sorted - quickly denied by several less than gruntled posters!

It runs very slowly at times which is criminal for a company that relies on it for its sales. It's like having a travel agency that keeps closing its doors for few minutes.

This from P&O's Fb site on Thursday:

'P&O Cruises
Thursday
Update: The issues with our booking systems are ongoing and are continuing to affect website and telephone bookings, as well as Cruise Personaliser. We are looking at this as a critical priority and are working to rectify the problem as soon as possible. We will provide further updates here as the situation progresses. We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of this. Thank you for your patience.'

It's not very impressive is it?
I was taught to be cautious

It beggars belief that these problems have been going on for so long, regardless of whose fault it is they have had many months to fix things but it appears to be a case of one step forward and six back

Exactly David - everything was going to be fine when they removed the Community Forum - some hopes! I went to my Cruise Personaliser yesterday - I usually go in via my account and Your Cruises so I don't have to bother to put the Booking reference in but it wouldn't let me in that way so I had to click on the CP and put the reference in and then I got to the Personaliser. I wanted to look at the couple of tours we had already booked for next year on Azura and then look at others in the various ports - I got there but it took ages. In fact when I was on the Barbados list, I clicked onto Grenada and got up to make some coffee and it still hadn't come up when I sat down again!

Thanks for the replies - glad it's not my computer (or me!).

When we were booking the tours, it said they were kept for just 2 hours but half that time had expired booking just 4 tours.

So grateful this website was set up - thanks!

Carole
For days when I have tried to do this I get a message
"Passengers on this booking:
You're authentication token has expired. Value 26/07/2013 14:18:00 compared against 04/08/2013 06:53:19"

I have not a clue what this is all about or how to fix it

As I understand things it has nothing to do with the old Forum but has everything to do with their new Cruise Personaliser, there have been ongoing problems ever since it's introduction although not for me I would have to say.

Using the ' Cruise Personaliser Link ' at the top of the Home Page should work every time for everybody but if it doesn't then contact P&O via the ' Contact Us ' link.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Home page is working for me.

If you still have the problem try holding "Ctrl" and pressing "F5" failing that clear cookies for the P&O site

I went to the Cunard website yesterday and there was a banner saying there were problems with their Cruise Personaliser. Perhaps this is a Carnival problem, not just a P&O issue?

Working fine for me!

Last week or the week before, the HAL site seemed to have some sort of malware on it.
