Be careful about speeding in France.

Since Britian has opted out of the EU exchange of information in relation to motoring offences the police can issue an on the spot fine of up to €375 ... if you claim not to have the monye you will be taken to the nearest cash point or your car can be impounded for up to 3 days while waiting for a judge to decide what to do with you (and the hotel/food bills could be much higher).

Could really spoil your holiday!

If you break the speed limit, expect to pay the penalty. Simple. Don't exceed the speed limit.

I've never had a problem. The French police have always been courteous and helpful.

It's long been known that it's an offence not to carry a spare set of bulbs for your car when travelling in France, but I wonder if they take into account the fact that for some (if not many) newer cars it's nigh-on impossible to actually replace certain bulbs without half dismantling one's car?

... I also notice from the article that you must carry a Hi-Vis vest as well.
I bet many in the UK would get caught out by that one.

There must be a vest for each occupant and they must be carried in the passenger compartment.

Like many cars, mine has sealed headlamp units and all the others are LED. The salesman recommended that I carry a 'dummy' spare set of bulbs just in case it was ever demanded.
