Pet Hates

Unread post by The Tinker »

We have just moved and we have a fully working doorbell, however, as soon as the doorbell has chimed the postman then knocks the knocker and bangs loudly on the door - have told them the bell works and we are not related to superman but they still do it!!!! What are your pet hates?

Ladies, mostly but not exclusively, who stop in the middle of a shopping aisle in Sainsbugs for no obvious reason and then just stare into space until you wake them from their trance like state ;)
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Worse still are those (of all sexes) that walk through a door and, now that they are inside/outside, just stop dead ... Julie used to do it all the time

Or ladies (usually) who stand in the queue and wait until their goods have been checked through. Then they decide to start looking for their purse, followed by fumbling around for the right credit card, trying to remember their PIN number, then reversing the process putting their credit card away, purse away etc (and probably standing in the doorway putting said purse away!!). Meanwhile the queue gets longer. Why don't they sort out their purse and card while they wait in the queue?

This stopping dead sometimes occurs at the top of an escalator. That's scary.

When there are cars parked either side of the road, so I wait and give way, the other driver comes through and does not acknowledge me - no manners and drives me mad!

JS, it's not getting onto the escalator, it's those getting off who stand thinking where to go next. Meanwhile everybody is piling up behind them.

In our Tesco we have one of these travelator things ( like in airports ) and the amount of people that get off it and just stand is unbelieveable, as you get to the end there is only one place to go which is off it unless you want the person behind you ramming their trolley into your back, I used to be concerned about my trolley running into someone but if it's a choice between me or them then I'm afraid it has to be them for being so daft and not moving in the first place.

Another pet hate are those that never return their trolleys and think it is ok to just leave them inches away from your car grrrrr.

People driving while using mobile phones ... they still haven't learned that that habit is just as bad as drink driving.

People who say "haich" instead of "aich" for the letter ''H''. People who end their sentences on an ascending almost interrogative note as if asking a question when they are not.

Sorry OBF, and Dancing Queen, didn't realise you'd already covered this.

DK - with you all the way on that one. We were going to Heathrow late one night in a taxi and there was a git in the centre lane who refused to move. Unfortunately for him, our taxi driver was also a policeman....

Incawat - glad I'm not the only one who gets infuriated by this

A chief constable once made the point to me that if you approach a roundabout in the correct lane and position the car correctly then there should be no need for indicators ... sadly too many people don't do that

What about thin people who seem to think that walking up a set of stairs after consuming a 5,000 calorie dinner is why they are not fat!

Incorrect and out of date information - just watched Liverpool Cruise Club - John and Derek referred to P &Os celebration last year for their 170 years! Also had pictures in background of Ventura's bungees which are no longer there.

I hate those side-by-side double pushchairs that take up the whole pavement especially when I then have to step into the road and get no acknowledgment.
Other end of the scale I hate mobility scooter drivers speeding along the pavement and not acknowledging my stepping into the road !.
