That looks like the obvious solution. Get your nicotine hit with a e-ciggie and you can puff away in your cabin and on the balcony without donating some of that nicotine and carcinogens to nearby people.sunseeker99 wrote:Just had an e-mail from P&O which explains their new policy. It sounds very fair, to everyone, to me. Here's the releavnt bit
Following feedback from our passengers and the results of recent customer research, smoking will no longer be permitted on cabin balconies. Smoking is currently not permitted in cabins or public areas but the policy will continue to permit smoking in designated areas of the open deck.
With regards to electronic cigarettes which do not emit smoke, these are not permitted in public areas but they can be used in cabins, balconies and designated areas of the open deck.
So - bet they sell e-cigs on board soon
I wonder if there is some reluctance to use a e-cig because it is not considered manly? That of couse does not apply if you are in private.
I read elsewhere that the reason why e-cigs are only allowed in designated smoking areas is other passengers thinking they were real ciggies and causing a ruckus. The problems the crew have in smoothing out the ruffled feathers was just to much hassle.
Are there any advantages with smoking a real ciggie versus the e version?
