Cruise Community

Unread post by Frank Manning »

Just a comment, after 17 days of use. I am finding that this site is fantastically easy to use, and far superior to the old P&O Community Forum.

At the risk of David's head not being able to fit into his avatar box, he has done an excellent job with setting up this forum and managed to do so in a matter of a few days. I also think that some credit should go to DQ (and others) as well who started tracking people from the old P&O forum down and subtly brow-beat David into creating the forum .. with the threat of torture (and as we all know many a true word is spoken with an electrode on the scrotum).

Oohhh I never dreamt that DQ and others on here could turn to torture. I wonder what else they have lined up in case of any disputes.

Ha Ha Andrea, it was a good team effort by everyone involved and it didn't stop when David set the forum up, we all contacted as many people as we could be it via other forums, fb or e-mail, DTM liaised with P&O admin who agreed to e-mail members about this forum I don't think this happened as there are still members from the old forum missing but hopefully they will all find us eventually

Not for me thanks. I'll settle for the occasional Horse's Neck and/or G&T  (well perhaps slightly more often than that!

We were in Messina a few years ago and a Costa Fortuna sailed up the Messina Straights, it cause a lot of amusement on the Aurora.

Funnier still was a photo in the old Numast Telegraph of a ship called Titan Uranus; perhaps a warning prior to signing on.

Well P&O didn't e-mail me, so I don't think they kept their promise.

P&O didn't e-mail me either. I was on the coach returning from the Oceana Caribbean cruise in January when I was told about this forum. I do miss the many postings we used to have from members going on a particular cruise. We used to be able to arrange meetings on board which would often attract about 30 - now so few use the Meeting Place on this site.

Is there any way we might persuade P&O to allow us to send postings through this form during cruises? Perhaps we should send DQ to headquarters to use her charm to persuade them! :) ;)

I doubt anyone could charm P&O sunsetsail, they seem to think fb and twitter are the way forward .

Just out of interest is it possible to post on P&O's fb page via your a/c when you are onboard , I assume it isn't as I haven't noticed anyone doing so.

That's a good question Jo. Will try on my next cruise in October - unless someone has tried and knows it's not possible. I do miss the live reports. :(

Yes Ken, David has indeed done a remarkable job and I fof one do not begrudge him a penny of the £1000 a week he receives from P&O ;) nor do I envy the amount of kickback to the moderators, albeit one or two could be considered over paid. ;) :D

A £1000 per week .. he told us £10 per week which is why he only slips us a free photo of Kylie in a bikini every once in a while (or the Chippendales for Jenni)
