Rugby League Challenge Cup Final

Unread post by Admiral of the Humber »

My current post cruise blues have been lightened slightly because my team, Hull, will be playing at Wembley a week on Saturday in the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final.

It will be the sixth time I've seen them play at Wembley and as I've never seen them win there I'm not holding out a lot of hope but it will nonetheless be a super, friendly day out.

Anybody else going?

Come on you 'Ull

Regards

I'm looking forward to it too AOTH. Hopefully you won't do a "Sheffield Eagles" on us.

Hi Bert,

I was beginning to think I was the only one on here who followed the one true team sport.

It's about time we won something so I'm sorry...I do hope we do a Sheffield Eagles on you!

Come on you 'Ull.

AOTH

Given the Warriors' recent form, this could well be your moment of glory. The Cherry and Whites need to be reminded that the Challenge Cup gets homesick when it is away from this town.

It's a bit hard to call Bert. Halfway through the season I'd have said that we were just going to make up the numbers but as you say you've lost form...we are in a bit of good form but unfortunately are picking up a lot of injuries.

Win or lose it will be a great day and a great advertisement for the north and for a great sport.

Well that was a waste of 80 minutes of my life.

Well done to Wigan. I hope you had a good, albeit damp day on Saturday Bert.

It wasn't a great game but we were happy to win the cup. Hull's defence was terrific and it was amazihg that they were only six points behind at half time. Despite dominating possession and territory, Wigan couldn't build a commanding lead and Hull were still in it with ten minutes to go. If Charnley had missed that tachle it would have been a tense finish.

There will have to be a dramatic mprovement for Wigan to win the Grand Final.

Thanks for a considered and thoughtful response Bert.

At work today the Hull KR fans were lining up to give me their opinions.....which were all less than considered and thoughtful!!
