Weekend Away

Unread post by suespud »

Looking forward to a weekend away tomorrow.
Going to Glasgow :D
My youngest son is a photographer and is doing a wedding here....

As my OH helps him when he can, we have decided we will all go and make a weekend of it.
It looks a fab place...really looking forward to it.
While the boys are "working" my dil and myself will be in the spa.. or just chilling in the hotel somewhere.
We will have a cheeky peek at the wedding of course.
After my hectic week looking after the babies I cant wait..

What a fantastic hotel Sue. I hope the weather holds out for the bride, and for you too.

I'm away for a weekend with the octogenarians (mother & co). Wish me luck!!

looks great, but I wouldn't say it was "Glasgow"!

I hope you have a wonderful time.

We went to Glasgow a couple of months ago and was surprised how much it had changed. I always thought it was a dark and forbidding city but there are loads of new shops and it really is a pleasant shopping and evening dining experience.

We were most impressed.

You must go back SS. It seems whole swathes have been cleared away to make way for new roads, shopping centres and modern buildings. Along by the river is where the velodrome is being built for the Commonwealth Games next year and there are some very desirable apartments overlooking the Clyde. It seems a lot of investment is going in from somewhere.

Just remembered this thread.
We also spent four nights at the same place for New Year.
It was brilliant!!!
The hotel room wise is probably only 3 star, clean, but not posh....there is a spa and swimming pool, nice bar, reception area.... All very good".....
And the food.......out of this world..fantastic!!
The staff are very very good.
John the hotel manager is a really nice man, goes way and beyond for his guests.
New Years Eve was awesome!!!
The surrounding area is beautiful. Waterfalls, wild life...so much to see.
Can't wait to go back.

Phew, thank god for that. Haggis out of a rusty tin in the ghetto hut isn't my idea of going out for dinner. But thanks for the thought :)
