the house is so quiet
I've been retired now for six years and have to admit bank holidays don't mean the same - really every day is a bank holiday for me
but I remember looking forward to the extra long weekend when I was working so for all you youngsters - enjoy

Re: Bank Holiday Weekend
I am going to have an unusually quiet Bank Holiday weekend. My daughter has gone back to uni early in the hope of finding a job before the freshers turn up. My son has gone to Greenbelt (a festival), and my husband is off to Bankok tomorrow for a business meeting. As we are due on Ventura a week on Sunday, his flight home had better not be delayed!!
Meanwhile I shall do my packing ... and probably be enticed into the sales looking for more cruise clothes, which I don't really need!

Re: Bank Holiday Weekend
Enjoy your restful weekend, Jan. i'm sure you deserve it after a busy time.
We are hoping my father-in-law is being transferred back to London tomorrow, following his fractured hip that happened when he was staying with us 16 days ago. Being his only family down here, all the visiting has been tiring, especially as the hospital is 45-50 minutes away. He will be much happier nearer his home and the rest of the family in London, so the bank holiday weekend might he a relaxing one for us after all.

Thanks Gill - I hope you manage to relax on your lovely patio in the sun - hospital visiting is very tiring I know from experience - good to hear that your father-in-law is well enough to travel and that he is on the mend.GillD46 wrote:Enjoy your restful weekend, Jan. i'm sure you deserve it after a busy time.

I am off to a wedding reception tonight. Steve is working tomorrow and then his friend whom he has known since he was five years old is coming to stay - so pub tomorrow night for a bite to eat and couple of glasses of wine. Family round for a roast on Sunday.. Monday TBD...
Happy Days, have fun everyone

Re: Bank Holiday Weekend
Here's hoping for a decent day !
If so, I shall be ripping the top off the old MG and heading down to the coast. Hythe is nice this time of year. The one in Kent.
We are off to see the West Side Story at the Saddlers Wells
tomorrow and the forecast is terrible. Heavy rain all day.
Getting the train but will no doubt get soaked along the way
Were both pretty chilled so will just make the best of it.
Whatever you are doing, have a nice time .

Nothing much - except that a trip to try and fix a mobile phone might also include a bit of shopping!

A flagon of Dorsets finest and a rabbit stew in front of the telly with the ferrets then is it Graham
We are out for dinner with some friends tomorrow evening. Sunday, who knows. The good lady might do a bit of packing for our jaunt to Corfu next Friday, (Morning All as normal).
