Re: F1
Ain't been for years but did go regularly to Wimbledon to see the Stock Cars....I quite enjoyed that not as much as the figure of eight Banger racing though...now them drivers really are nutters.
I have been to a Grand Prix believe it or not, again years ago at Brands Hatch.....The biggest waste of money and time I have ever had....I'm talking mid 70's and the ticket was over 100 quid then.....Wasn't for me...the cars were so fast you couldn't see anything if you know what I mean and the noise...deafening....My friends loved it of course and reckoned they could tell who was driving what by the colour scheme and different helmets on the drivers....couldn't see it myself but there you go.
OBF.....Any sport is ten times better live than it is on the box

Fantastic race today loads of controversy great Sky tv coverage Vettel is going to be a true legend as much as it hurts to say so
Great champions are hard drivers and the win to them is the only thing that matters and remembered.
Going to be a great season

The only thing that made this race exciting was that one of the drivers went against team orders and in doing so turned the race into something that the spectators have paid to see...car and drivers racing each other, this team fixing should be banned...if this was horse racing the trainers would be banned for life.

Re: F1
I thought that the 'similarity' between cars was sorted out by the homologation rules.
Team orders are team orders and should stay within the team - they are there for a reason and should be obeyed.
Mind you - F 5000 was more exciting in it's day.

Re: F1
There's a ban on team orders two years ago but certain teams would get around the ban with coded messages to drivers everyone was calling for team orders to be made legal now we have them people are asking for them to be banned.
I think team orders should kick in once mathematically one driver can't win the championship let them race.
Red bull have in the past have said they do not like team orders and prefer the drivers to race that was until both the drivers collided and both crashed out of the race.
I would just love it to be the quickest car and driver wins at the moment the pit wall decides who wins

Re: F1
F1 teams first priority if they have a decent car is to win the constructors championship. Then they look to win the drivers championship.
Over the last 30 yrs there has only been 5 occasions when the constructors and drivers winners have not been from the same team. Despite saying in public the teams let the drivers race in private they prefer them not to.
The main aim is to race the other teams.
Vettel is an employee albeit a highly paid one and has ignored an instruction by his boss and done what he likes. So what happens now, I know what would happen if I ignored my boss and I would wager that if the roles had been reversed then Webber would be in trouble.
Webber has been given the same instructions in other races and did as he was told as did Rosberg on Sunday.
A selfish act by Vettel imo.

I don't really understand this, let the slower driver win the race, malarky. Surely if they're both accruing points for the same constructor, then why does it matter which one comes in first - for team points that is? I don't follow F1 so I don't understand the points system.
Maybe they should ban pit to car radios. The bikers don't have them, they still get round the track.

Re: F1
You have constructers championship and Drivers Championship
Teams want the constructers championship they just wont both cars to finish in the highest position drivers wont to win
team tell them to hold station as these two drivers have taken each other of before when in the lead
Vettlel ignores the call putting the result in jeopardy

I didn't realise these fellas have form for taking each other out. If the constructors want to race as a team, maybe they should contruct cars with tow bars so the faster driver can give his team mate a tow!
Ban the radios, let the drivers think for themselves.

Both where way in front team told both drivers to turn engine down and hold station Vettlel hounded down webber there driving skills was amazing very exciting but very close to disaster happening.Capt Black wrote:Then again, in other team sports, the team members communicate with each other. Let the driver's talk to each other rather than the pit. That last race would have been interesting!
Webber gave him the one finger salute as they crossed the line

Since Sky took over I don't really watch as much F1 as I used to (I refuse to pay to see it) ... in fact I usually just watch the 10 minute highlight on the BBC web site the following day .. it covers most of the main parts/incidents of the race. It is good to see Hamilton and Rosberg doing well in the Mercedes .. however what the heck are Mclaren at?

Re: F1
Think they are wondering that themselves, last years car was a winning car as there where very few rule changes this year most teams opted to develope there 2012 car,not Mclaren they started from scratch and it back fired, this season has been written of and the 2014 car is being developed
Mclaren are a fantastic team and have top class facilities they will be back to winning ways
