You wouldn't get many people in a mini.

Hey Ho Dear Mr Kane
Lets bite the bullet and head out of God's county for just a mo
There are a host of the delectable 'Spoons eatery emporium's heading North to keep us well indulged and suitable sustained with delectable gastronomic experiences
I more than willing to pick you up in your beautiful enclave in land of Watercress Land
Have you ever ridden on the back of a Hercules '40 tandem ?
Dress code Lycra and hard hat plus goggles plus string vest - even posh folk "sweat"

In all seriousness it would probably be easier to go on a short cruise, that way people would be responsible for booking their own accommodation etc and paying. It is a huge responsibility to organise something like this.

gfwgfw,
Much as I find your kind offer enticing and alluring, I fear that were TMM to cycle to some of the destination mentioned, TMM would cease to be alive at journey's end

The wearing of stab vest is optional

Re: Forum get together
Hello
Betty was a avid Sagazoner (which sadly has now been closed down)
A Saganaults "together" arranged in Poole Bay was a resounding success
It was great putting faces to Cyber friends, incidentally none matched my visual image, but it was a fun day and a huge success
Sadly, Saga had to close their great forum due to the enormity of the sado negative posters
They were not so lucky to have a saviour like our David
Luboo all - of course I do
Graham

I was referring to my general unfitness to undertake a long cycle ride, although I do understand your stab vest suggestion, which is advisable to wear even in my corner of our fragrant and peaceful part of the Kingdom of England.

If your bike has a cross bar we can split the peddling.

Re: Forum get together
Stephen:
My bicycle does have a crossbar but no tyres (they have rotted due to non-use). Our local lanes are not pleasant nor safe for languid, "sit-up-and-beg", panama hatted cyclists like myself due to mass pelatons of Lycra-louts swarming at breakneck speed (with no bloody bells) "inspired" by recent British successes in the Tour de France, Olympics, etc.
~~~
QB: My crossbar is not pink - but silver grey, like my hair would be, but for the wonders of Clairol's 'Loving Care' No 765.
It's cruising we've got in common, so that seems like the best idea to me.The Tinker wrote:Suggest we all go on a mini cruise![]()
Make sure you pick a child friendly ship Stephen. I'll draw up a babysitting rota in case my little darlings get bored at the kids club. Now, who wants to be first on the list?
Oh ! are there going to be children as well. Then Uncle Derek, you know, the one with the monocle, can be the children's entertainer.
To get an informed idea on my offering as children's entertainer a You Tube search of Peter Sellers' Auntie Rotter should suffice
Available also for weddings, wakes and bar mitzvahs.
