There is a big house in London that could be suitable. It is in quite a nice area and at the end of a road called The Mall.

Travel Inns, and others of that ilk out in London Outer Suburbs with rail / tube connections around our wonderful capital are good value and acceptable for one night.

Not sure a venue which keeps out the riff-raff would be very appropriate  :lolno:

Are we seriously considering a meeting, or have I missed something? We are up for it if it is well organised. Have already met OBF, Jack Sparrow, and Dennis the Menace, and we got on really well.

Caryll organised two meetings in Southampton well hythe and we enjoyed them both.

I wouldn't go, Frank - you've probably already met the best of them, the rest would only be a disappointment.

More importantly - when is it going to be? So much to do beforehand - starter course in bow-tie doing, etc.

Em ;)

Sorry, D.Q. I shall be cruising there on Friday, as it happens - I'd better keep an eye out for potential attackers.

About half way between Newbury and Winchester.

After a two mile cycle ride from home I could wave from a bridge across the A34 to all of you who use Eavesway Coaches (from the midlands, the north and Scotland)

Might not be seeing too many Eavesway coaches along the A34 from next year - they have just lost the P&O contract...

Eavesway have only lost the contract for free coach travel - they are still operating the normal paid service

Me too. Born and educated there.

Proud of it as well and never been ashamed to admit it.

Now living at lee on the Solent though. Ideal for cruising, just 13 miles from the Ocean Terminal,

No cruise ship leaves Southampton without passing our balcony and we often wave friends off.

Well I guess that will still cut down their numbers anyway.

Do folk actually pay when they can travel for free?

The safest place in England

Costa Del Maldon.

A gated community with a 20ft high wall topped with razor wire all round. Manned machine gun towers every ten yards and the perimeter patrolled 24hrs with dogs and armed handlers.

Do come and visit

But they must let you out occasionally Stephen, for exercise, compassionate visits, that sort of thing?

I feel privileged, I use to have a pass to get into Maldon, when I worked there before I retired.

We welcome everybody to the Costa Del Clacton, where I live, the sunniest place in the UK. :D
