Are you Outrageous !!!

Unread post by Dancing Queen »

What is the most outrageous thing you have ever done

Don't be shy I'm sure we will all be interested to know :o

One I'm going to have to think about, I was certainly a bit of a "wild child" but then along came Mr DQ and I suddenly became a more reserved member of society :shh:

Well, at 17 my friend Susan and I went for a week in a Transit van with 14 boys to the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival(and saw Jimi Hendrix just a couple of weeks before he died). It was all very platonic and they looked after us extremely well. My mum knew all about it and trusted me(!) but my dad thought we'd just had a lift and were camping!!!

We had an amazing time.

These days I appreciate my creature comforts more!!!!!

Oh Gill that has just reminded me of a 3 day ferry trip to Bremerhaven ( sp ) myself and a friend and the rest of the coach trip made up of guys from our local pub, what a time we had   I do remember we shared a cabin with 2 of the guys ( all very innocent ) it was either that or sleep in a chair as in those days money was a consideration and it was the cheapest option.

My parents knew nothing about it as my friends didn't and both thought we were staying at each others house for the weekend, goodness I would have been grounded for a year if they had found out !!

Nope...not outrageous at all.

Especially these days... the most outrageous I get is to spend over a tenner on a shirt!

A few years ago I was in a hotel bar in Frankfurt with our German distributors, and our Service Manager, and we started telling jokes. I recounted the one about the WRNS cricket team, which has near the end the admiral sending for the camp tailor to explain why all the ladies trousers are odd sizes. Thinking (well; not thinking actually) it would add to the story I then recounted that the camp tailor began "Yawohl Herr Admiral!", and in a crowded bar I gave the NAZI salute. There was a long silence and then their Project Engineer said "Zat vos a funny little salute Frank, Ver did you learn zat?"

My embarassment was total, and I suppose I was lucky not to get locked up.

No, just growing old disgracefully; though I am sure my sense of humour will get me in trouble one day.
I have a disconcerting habit of seeing things differently - and finding things amusing on inappropriate occasions.
One such event was my mother in law's funeral. She had been a midwife most of her working life, and her eldest son was reading the eulogy. At one point he spoke of her in the 1950s "riding her bike around Edinburgh delivering babies" I just had this mental image of her on a 'Granville' type bike (as in Open All Hours) with the basket full of babies to deliver to the various 'customers'. I managed not to laugh, but it must have shown on my face, as I got a dig in the ribs from my daughter.

Not too many years ago on a very hot day in London I paddled in the fountain in Trafalger Square.

I'm with Notso, my sense of humour is going to land me in the cart before long. A knowledge of what is happening around you can be very useful.

Someone here made a comment a few days ago about skin care and I nearly made a response that involved battery acid but in the nick of time remembered that the previous day, two young ladies had been the victims of an acid attack.

On the other hand, many years ago (I think it was Kenny Everett) a radio DJ announced the newreader for the on-the-hour news (a chap surnamed Jefferson) by saying "and now here's Mr Jefferson with his airplane", totally unaware that the top story was about an aircraft crash with a great many fatalities.

A few years ago, I was bet that I wouldn't run naked around our aft corner balcony on Arcadia. It was a warm balmy night and was completely dark, so I did it, from the door right down the side, back up the side and all around the back.

I have to say it was really rather nice!

HK Phooey has threatened me with these pictures of Romig - so you can ask her for them.

Exactly why she has them is another matter altogether!! :)

When I was in my teens and before I was married I decided to take a bunch of flowers home to my future wife, unfortunately these were in a window box on the third floor of the local Co-operative shop in Newcastle -under-lyme.
My friends dared me to climb the ivy up to this naked and pick the flowers, this I did :(
I was obviously fitter and not so rotund in those days.

I was once at a funeral and one of the attendees was working nights and half way through the service his alarm went off on his mobile.

Unfortunately it played 'always look on the brightside of life' very embarrasing.

The OP's question:

No, not really, at least I don't feel I am. However, I am somewhat of a non-conformist to a lesser or greater degree, in 'everyday' living, views, dress and deportment.
