No I haven't had that pleasure (?), well, not unless he was the guy in the Arcadia passenger's concert in early April this year! That was memorable, but if he was wearing long johns then, judging by the sound he was making, they must have been very tight!

Supermarket today to get the porridge. We like it made the old fashioned way (in a pan) with blueberries, maple syrup and evap milk

It's gone a tad cold here on the East coast.

It's been chilly here for the last few mornings and I finally gave in and put the heating on for an hour this morning when I got up

Hmmm definitely time to buy porridge when I go shopping this week !!

We find that our house is cooler on an evening DQ so we did the same last night, just turned up the thermostat for an hour to take the chill off

I agree about the evenings. I put the heating on last night too. We now have one of those mobile thermostat things. The first thing my husband does when he comes in is to go over to it and have a look - he did last night but all he said was "Don't forget to turn it down before you come up." Last winter it almost became a battlefield. I didn't tell him that I have discovered that if I put the thermostat behind the curtains the boiler stays on! I make sure I remove it before he comes in! Are we the only couple who don't agree about thermostats and the temperature of the room?

No, the Lady C can be sitting there shivering while I'm sweltering. The main problem we have, though, is with our son-in-law - we keep the thermostat at around 19. When we go out, he turns it up to 26....

Ah, the dreaded heating controls ...

Not a problem in our present house cos although Mobietta knows how to use the thermostat she has yet to unfathom the complexities of the ' Master Controllers ', as in me and my mate Honeywell. We have therefore reached an understanding about ' ideal ' temperatures

Do I hear "Softie Southerners!"? yes it is a bit chilly over here in the East this morning and raining all day, but, you know when it is getting cold over here and that,s when you have to break the Ice on a mug of tea to drink it. You may even think of turning the heating on but not before there is a D in the month.
