Before you go to bed, or in the morning...?
Normally if we have a party or dinner party at home we tidy up before we go to bed.
This morning at 2.30am my wife and I were too "tired" to clear up the mess and left it untl this morning. Big mistake in my opinion. We were less "tired" but overnight both of us had developed rather fragile constitutions and the cleaning up process was not a pleasant affair. The smell of stale finger food will live with me for most of the day.
Do you clear up before you retire or in the morning?

Had to chuckle at this as just reading the title it sounded like you were possibly asking about some other activity?! Lol - as for clearing up after a party, has to be done before going to bed - and then I'm afraid there's NO energy for anything else!

got to be before bed , no matter what
I could not face all the mess first thing
We would at the very least get rid of the food and stale drink into the kitchen
Dirty boy

Before bed almost always. on the rare occasions we have le it until next day, we have regretted it big time. But then I am one of those that always tidies around, straightening cushions, taking glasses and cups into the kitchen etc before bed every night.

All cleared away into the kitchen at least - then the living room doesn't look like a bomb site even if the kitchen does. I can cope with the kitchen in a mess, but not the rest of the house lol
Hope Mrs AOTH had a wonderful party and hope your head's not banging too much

We would normally sort out before bed where food is concerned, it's not too bad if you've only got crockery & glasses to put away especially when you've got a delicate constitution
Hope it was a great party, problem is when you feel washed out all the next day

I would tend to say leave until the morning, and then hope that Wina gets up before me.

I am a very fair husband ... I let Julie clean up when it suits her and do not force her to do it before bed

Hello everyone - definitely a tidy up before bed time. Only once have we left it until the morning and for the reasons stated by you Sir Rob - never again.
Glad Mrs AOTH had a great time.

AOTH, I think a bit before bed and a bit in the morning is a perfect balance on the weekend. You can tidy up too.

I found the easiest solution is to be a billy no mates and never have a party/event/function!!
I'm still to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was the year before last!!

before going to bed - apart from stuff that needs dishwashering if it's already got a load running - that's left neatly to be loaded in the morning
