prompted by a song I was listening to:

A wasted youth is better by far ,than a wise and produtive old age ?

Who picks up the tab for wasted youth?

I get rather annoyed by celebrity sportsmen, recording artists, etc who proudly proclaim how they bunked off school and put two fingers up to society and hey presto!!, look at them now languishing in untold wealth. Are these the role models we want for our young people who take their lifestyle to heart, copy what their idols did and find everything later drops apart, invariably because what they did not reveal was there was a wealthy daddy in the background with the money and the contacts to ensure their dear child had other options later on in life.
I was taught to be cautious

I do like the alternative translation though, "get it while you're young, baby!"

Shouldn't you be working, rather than listening to Meatloaf ?

It proves the saying, 'I wish I had known then, what I know now'.

If I had known in my youth, what I know now, I would have had an even better time than I did. I definitely wasted my youth. :shh:
