A wonderful invention the tea bag  .

Before they had them they used to throw away the dust and the floor sweepings ... but that's progress for you.

Smurfy
no still using the e cigs and not smoking "real ones"
I am finding that they are much more cost effective and do not have any of the drawbacks of "real" fags, such as the smell on clothing or the rough throat etc
I have also found that I use it less now than when I started with it, my Wife is also very pleased at the results
overall a sucess and I wish I had thought of it 12 months ago

one thing I have noticed is that the rules on where you can and can't use the e cig are a bit vague
one hotel I stayed in a couple of weeks ago was happy for me to use it inside the building, both in my room and in the bar with no issue, yet some other places are adamant they must be used outside
a bit confusing

Hi Dancing Queen,

I used to smoke about 25 ciggies a day - not many compared to some people I suppose. Then I decided to give up smoking because of the grandchildren and also because I ha developed a harsh cough and was very breathless, this was just over 3 years ago and at last after 3 or 4 attempts I can finally say that I no linger smoke.

I tried the e-ciggies - unfortunately they didn't work for me. I didn't even think they felt as if I was smoking and they definately didn't stop the feeling or craving for a ciggie. I eventually went to a Non smoking clinic and went onto a tablet called "champix" which you take over a 3 month period and they help to switch of the cravings in your brain. I still get the thought of a smoke but I find that if I distract myself I can forget abut it, and now when I walk past a person who is smoking or has just finished a ciggie it smells quite horrible.

I am glad that Dark Knight is getting n with the e-ciggie and that it is working for him - it just did nothing for me.

I used to smoke :D about 10-15 per day, so not very many, the e cig does , for me, supress the cravings
I tried patches, gum etc but the E-cig does work for me, with no side effects

Just thought that I would bring this back to the top in the hope of an update as it is now over a month since the last one.

Hope it is still going to plan

thanks David
still on the e cigs
I have found that it is better to use them as a proper cigarette and not all the time, so only when the cravings hit
it was too easy at the start to be using it all the time and I did not notice any cost benefit but over the last few weeks I have cut down and am starting to see real financial benefits

Well done.

My daughter(a type 1 diabetic,so vitally important she stops) has also had great success with them. She "puffs" when she craves the nicotine and has already dropped the strength she is using and noticed she uses it less frequently. She has found a great financial saving and also her physical fitness has improved.

There have been reports of fires caused by the batteries in e-cigarettes
As a result of this, The European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) has advised that:

• Electronic cigarettes should not be used whilst a patient is undergoing oxygen therapy
• Batteries of electronic cigarettes should not be charged in the vicinity of a patient undergoing oxygen therapy or the oxygen
source itself
• EIGA will be amending documents relating to Homecare oxygen to reflect the above advice.

If anyone you know is in this position, please advise them of this warning.
