Hmmm... now there's interesting.
When it comes to anti-smoking, I'm somewhere to the right of Mr Kane, but at least I've tried to be open about my past filth habit and the effects it still has on my life.

I thought they already did. Well in the UK anyhowDeefitz wrote:Don't be silly, they are getting rid of more and more each week.Admiral of the Humber wrote:I assume that more prison staff will be employed to cope with the increase in violence which would follow such a ban.
The government won't be happy until the prisoners are running the prisons!!!

OK, I admit I have never smoked. Yes, like most teenagers in the 1960s/70s I tried it; but it never did anything for me, and I preferred to spend my money on beer. The last cigarette I had was in 1974 and in the name of science. I was attached to an ECG at the time, end the effect on the trace was quite 'interesting'!

Re: Smoking in prisons to be banned
Everybody has a right to fresh air, ergo no-one has a right to burn tobacco.
Everybody has the right to life, nobody has a right to murder.
Everybody has the right to buy and keep something, nobody has a right to steal it.
Everybody has the right to walk peaceably down the street, nobody has a right to assault.
If you are in prison because you have violated someone else's rights, I suggest you are in no position to bleat about your own "rights"

Well said Shiny.
AND remember there is no-one worse than an ex-smoker. Derek reminds me of the gauntlet I run everyday when I go outside for a ciggie - I have to listen (politely of course!) of the life history of the general public down to when they gave up, how they gave up, why they gave up etc etc etc etc.
Dark Knight - PLEASE TAKE NOTE because in a couple of months when you have succeeded in giving up - I will not be listening to your ex-smoker's blah blah blah

Tinky
I will not become a bigoted ex smoker, as I know how hard it is to kick the weed
Anyone who has done so and has stayed off them deserves all the praise they get
I just hope I can emulate the success of the ex smokers

Tink as a member of the smoking underclass
do you not feel the need to stop smoking and rise into the upper echelon of society like wot I is now I have packed up
Also you could be a sanctimonious as the other ex smoker on here plus you would not have to stand outside in the rain to have a fag

Thank you for your kind concern DK but remember using an e-cigarette will not move you up the socio-economic ladder (according to TMM) - at the moment you are still a smoker!Dark Knight wrote:Tink as a member of the smoking underclass![]()

MoMu will never be satisfied till smokers are hung from the lampposts and cigarettes are illegal
I will take my move to e cigs as a positive ,as legally I can use them indoors, so by default I am no longer a smoker
as there is no smoke
so MoMu can stick that in his pipe and not smoke it
