jeez do you have a red nose and big shoes to go with the trousers?
I've noticed the red nose but I didn't let my eyes linger on the shoes or trousers !

If you saw the amount of rum punch he tucks away, you would probably realise he needs the longer shoes to aid stability !!!

Do I detect the merest hint of an obsession with the dress codes ?

not really
contrary to popular belief , I do adopt the prevailing dress code, I just advocate freedom to opt out , if people want to

mine doesn't need braces or anything else to keep up the trousers, as it fits properly
I did say "proper" dress trousers as in

The idea is that you need braces at the beginning of the cruise, but the trousers fit by the end of it.

Mine is M&S, and I have an M&S cream one for occasional use. Fits me perfectly, and doesn't need braces. I've got a nice pair of red braces but only wear them for fun. I am not snobby enough to have a tailored one just for cruises. ;) ;)

My husband and son have M&S too. Perfectly adequate for a holiday. After all it's just a cruise ;)

Indeed. 'It's just a cruise' is something that needs constant repetition.

I am sure we are all grateful. As for Armani, not me! The height of haute couture for me is humble Austin Reed, otherwise its Jaeger or M&S. I dont wear the football shirt because my team is Luton Town the 'Hatters' and I cant keep up with their changes in strip. 8-)
