PS What does " Pedant " mean

It means you spend your life fussing about things that don't really matter such as where you put a semi-colon.

Although many people struggle to punctuate properly (myself included when it comes to semi-colons, though I think I'm OK with apostrophes), it makes it much easier to read a piece of writing which has been written using correct grammar and punctuation. If it's well written you don't even notice it. If you have to read it twice to make sense of it there may well be something wrong with the punctuation or grammar.
