Hi Brenda,

That's awesome! I have a copy of the first scan (kindly sent by email) and I keep on trying to work out which bit is what! Potentially 'it' has a really cute nose!

Anyway - double good luck wishes if it's twins then!

This morning I still can't get my head around it, I'm going to start re-arranging all holiday arrangements for 2014 (after a long chat with daughter this weekend); but I can't believe that last night I spent the night with a grandfather!!!

Em :D

It may still be October Bob but some of us have already done the Xmas shopping as a Xmas cruise beckons   I will have everything wrapped and cards written by the end of the month then November is "my time" for a bit of cruise shopping

For the bah humbugs on here, I have just placed my Christmas order with M&S! You have to get in early to get what you want, when you want it!

I thought that the whole point of a Christmas cruise was to get away from all the shopping and associated paraphernalia. Special circumstances led to us going away on a cruise last Christmas and it shaved a lot of bother, no tree, no decorations...

Hi Jo,

It sort of fits in ok with our 2014 cruises - but we'll have to wait and see after that. What a wonderful excuse to book more cruises - to find out what the facilities are for babies onboard.

Good luck to Brenda though!!!

Congratulations to you both, Em and Brenda. :D
We will be enjoying Christmas this year as last year we were busy packing and fretting (well I was the one fretting about going away for almost 4 months) and generally organising things for our 'Worldie'.
My husband would love to do a Christmas cruise but I'm really not keen on the idea.

We've just had a visit and a nice chat with our daughter and her husband; and it now seems that this December is going to be (hopefully and fingers and toes crossed) the last quiet one for some years.

We're going to be grandparents (early-ish 2014) - so, this will be the last quiet one I think, hopefully.

Hi Em,

There are many joy’s that being a mom and dad can bring and I would imagine knowing your daughter is soon to become a mother herself is one of the greatest joys.

May I wish you many Nappy times ahead.

I of course extend the same good wishes to Brenda also.

Congratulations

Regards

Keith

Oh bless -

All of which raises the question of how are nappies dealt with on board? I've been on the internet and seen a contraption for dealing with the sealing and disposal of nappies - would we have to take that with us on a cruise? I've got to find out how young babies are allowed to be onboard - time to face the cruise line website!!!

It is for us QBob but I know a lot of people still like to have their family Christmas festivities. I am just glad to get away from it all. Are we on the same one as DQueen this year ?

We might try and fit in a festive cruise this year - to try and get us in the mood for the festivities at home. It's lovely to see a ship all gussied up with decorations, and I can't explain why, but it makes me feel more festive.

However, I don't know if that is the correct way to look at the festive season and it's meaning. I can clearly recall heading off onboard last December and feeling quite unseasonal and definitely not festive. Before too long there I was with a santa hat on - yes me! - singing along with all the traditional music!

Maybe the December festivities nowadays are more about keeping old traditions alive and kicking?

I don't like what Christmas has become - but I do like what it used to be before the original meaning was forgotten, and it became just another marketing opportunity.

Thank you all for your good wishes. I am so excited and don't mind the baby sitting duties. Regarding Christmas we celebrate with the family and two close friends who are on their own. There are twelve this year (next year another two). I have finished the Christmas shopping and only have the cards to write now. Whatever you do I hope you enjoy the day.

Not this year Cubie, last year was probably a one-off. We're off on Arcadia next week which helps to fill in the next few weeks.

Congratulations to Brenda and Em !!!
Brenda, we became grandparents to twins earlier this year. I was there at the birth..(as I have been with all my grandchildren.) it was an amazing sight to see this little slip of a girl give birth to twins...a boy and a girl. I was in awe of her !!!
Em, all grandchildren are precious...but the first time you hold your first grandchild..is such a special moment!!!
Im Nana... or Nana Sue...when they want to wrap me round their little fingers...lol What are you called Brenda and Em what are you going to be called?
