One wedding present was horrendous - so old fashioned. Had one of my elderly Aunties bought it, I could have understood. It was from a Cousin

Despite putting it on top of a rickety wardrobe (in a spare bedroom) - well I'd got to give it the chance of breaking :lolno: - it eventually went to a White Elephant stall. I was running this stall and someone did buy the Vase - they thought it was wonderful. I didn't say I'd made the donation :silent:
Just goes to show - one man's monogrammed pillow is another man's duster!

some sort of sail on an old yacht, isn't it??

All P&O ships fly the red one.
Pedant alert!

Technically it is a defaced version, the flag of Bermuda:

On our first PandO cruise Oceana flew the Bermudan defaced version of the good old Red Duster.

Since then on all our PandO cruises, the ships have always flown the undefaced British Red Duster. I have always wondered how they get away with this bearing in mind that the ships are all registered in Bermuda. Not complaining though, as dad was an MN chap.

Ships fly a courtesy flag at the top of the starboard crosstrees to acknowledge that they are in foreign waters. In the case of P&O this would be the red duster but they should still fly the Bermudan ensign at the stern.
