Image Gallery

I uploaded a bunch of photo's last week, all of which appeared in the gallery OK. Now I find that the first batch are still there but the rest have been replaced but a pretty red cross and a message saying image not available

Any ideas?

I suspect they were so good that there were many complaints about putting everyone else's in the shade !

I went in over the weekend to look at your piccies qbman and noticed that as well. I wonder if it is because they were posted before the site moved and therefore the links have not migrated correctly?

Good point, Ken, although the ones that I posted even earlier are still there. I reckon the second lot have been Smurfed ! S'pose I shall just have to upload them all again. Mind you, in your capacity as Administrator, I would expect you to be able to work miracles !

Is there a limit to the number of photos we can upload to galleries? I only ask because I've created three sub-galleries and have tried many times to upload some pix to the third. My browser window goes white after a few seconds and nothing gets uploaded, even though I wait for some time. I've tried doing it with a batch of pix and just one photo at a time - zilch.

There is no limit to the number of sub albums that you can have - not sure what the problem is and unfortunately I cannot test it from here

SS, I uploaded a couple of snaps yesterday without any problems. One thing to try may be to reduce the size of your photos. I always make mine no more than 1920x1080 (i.e. HD) .. it reduces the file size from 4-5Mb to about 200Kb which uploads much quicker. Try that to see if it works?

Gentlemen - thank you for your replies.

I am a right numpty. All the other photos I've uploaded I'd run through my photo-editing software to "optimise" them and assumed, because theothers had come out at the right size, that this latest batch was right, too. Of course, they're not!

So sorry to have troubled you.
