Photo on site?

Can some one please tell me how to ut a picture on this site? Do they call this Avator? Not very good with this new fangled thing called a computer so will need it in normal language. Many thanks in advance.

Go to ''update profile'' use the cog thing next to messages at the top, it will eventually lead you where you want' but then the pic you choose from your computer will be too big so you have to go to somewhere like "resize pics'' online & resize it by trial & error until it works...as you can tell I am not that technical!!

Have you got a picture that you can browse to on your computer ?

If Yes, is it 100 x 100 pixel size ?

If No do you know how to reduce the size to that value ?

It took me ages yesterday - none of the photo software I had on the computer would get it small enough, even selecting resizing for email. In the end I used an online image resizer, and it worked straight away. (Make sure you resize a copy - not your original).
