Short break
Decided to have couple days in Cornwall just been to Padstow it never changes a very pretty fishing port
Even though it's a bit windy and showery there are still loads a tourist about
Mevagissy next another favorite place and if time permits a vist to par sands my home town
Weather on North Cornwall was ok south is wet and windy but the scenery on the drive over top of St Austell is amazing

Enjoy your break. Had many holidays across the water at Rock, just love the fish & chips at Rick's place.

That's what I call great style - a traditional Cornish pasty ..... yum.
We're so lucky with all the great traditional food in the UK.

Re: Short break
We were in Cornwall in May this year, stayed at Carbis Bay.
Visited Mevagissey which we both love, also Mousehole and Praa Sands, also took a drive to Padstowe. When we arrived all the car parks were full. Unfortunately their main car parks, have very narrow parking spaces, and the odd spaces which were left, you had not hope of parking a car in them. So we drove straight out, and headed to Newquay. Mind you it was Bank Holiday weekend.
Have been to Padstowe before, as you say a lovely fishing port.
Photo's of our visit can be viewed here.

Re: Short break
We were in Cornwall for two weeks in June. We stayed central near Bodmin and not too far from the Eden Project and St Austell. We went to Mevagissey but got absolutely soaked so would love to go there again some time. We also got wet in Falmouth where it was Sea Shanty weekend, such a shame. We took our bikes with us so were able to ride the Camel Trail which was lovely. We also cycled on the Clay Trails near to where we were staying. One of the main things we wanted to see was St Michael's Mount and were fortunate that this was the best day for sunshine in two weeks so we continued on to St Ives and spent an hour or so on the beach after a short scenic train ride. Other days were spent on visits to Tintagel, Boscaste and to Lanhydrock Castle. We had made a list of the things we wanted to see and do and although the weather was a bit mixed we managed to do most of it and look forward to going back there again some time.

Hi Havabeer,
My wife and I enjoyed seven consecutive years holidaying in Cornwall and loved every place we visited...some of them twice in one day. The amazing thing about Cornwall is that it can be pouring down with rain on one cost line and basking in sunshine on the the other.
Regards
Keith

Hi havabeer,
You’ve probably been there done it but if you haven’t I can thoroughly recommend a visit to Porthcoumo where you will see the world famous open air Minack theatre. Sculptured into the side of a cliff this is a must see not to be missed experience...remember to take your umbrellas just in case
Regards

Re: Short break
we had a place near Rock until recently
always enjoyed Cornwall, but it is too far to go now with the dogs
we stayed away from Rick's place after a bad experience and went to No6 or Viners for good food
the pubs along the harbour did great food at good prices and the doom bar beer was excellent
if you get the weather there are not many better places for a holiday
