Halloween Party

Unread post by suespud »

Because we are escaping for four nights over the New Year and wont be hosting a party, we decided to have a Halloween Party next Saturday.... Oh my word... its taking some organising.
Its fancy dress of course and all the grandchildren are invited along with friends of ours and their children/grandchildren.
Could be as many as 50 plus in total.
Im trying to keep it to "cartoon" type decorations..witches,(of course ;) ) ,cats, spiders webs bats...white sheet ghosts and pumpkins...so as not the scare the toerags !!!
But when I took one of the grandchildren shopping with me for stuff, he pointed to a "bloody limb" and said Nana, can we have that for Halloween...????
I was going to say NO......, but having found an arm and a leg..we are going to use them for singing a halloween version of Hokey Cokey... "you throw your left limb in " :D That's the only yukky things I have bought
I have got enough "spooky" stuff to decorate all the downstairs and the loo!!!
The music is sorted.......
Just got the food to sort out next week !!!!
Cant wait !!!!!!!!

I have never really been a fan of Halloween, but your party does sound fun. Now if only Swansea wasn't so far away........

I love hosting parties too, there's something so satisfying about having a load of friends and relatives enjoying themselves in your own home.

Have a really great time.

Hallowee'en food is so easy to do - and especially now that the supermarkets have got in on the game. I can remember making mini-spook cakes (cup cakes with frilly icing and little black eyes), pickled onions hand painted to look like blood-shot eyes!

We're not having one this year - but they can be huge fun.

Em :relaxed:

Love the idea of the limbs for the Hokey Cokey.

We are going to Fryup (where baby has moved to) for the weekend after Halloween for a party. Also going with David, our eldest son, daughter-in-law and one of the grandchildren from here. I expect John and Tracy will be having a good fun party with us all and maybe some of the new neighbours they have now - only 5 other homes there - it is a very small hamlet.

Hope yours goes well Sue. Sounds as though it is going to be great fun. Can't we combine????

Halloween. PAH

Luckily we don't get any of the little sh*ts knocking on our door. It might have something to do with the man traps scattered randomly out front.

By the way, the wife is available for hire if your short of a witch. I'm whispering that bit as I don't fancy being cursed any more than I am

Four days to go, till I start to decorate for the party !!
I have a six foot animated Butler,to stand in the front porch to welcome everyone. He is very scary.
Sooo much stuff to put out.

Going out tomorrow for the joints of meat.. for hot dips... A couple of hams and cherry coke.
Jacket spuds..of course, home made soup. Some friends are making chili and home made pies.
My DIL's dad is baking cakes.
Green Jelly and spiders and all the yucky kids stuff...
Then do a search to see who has the best deals on the alcohol and get it delivered !!
Paper plates and cups...enough for the whole of Jarrow... and Amazon delivered my heavy duty plastic cutlery today ...

BRING IT ON !!!!!

You have really got everything well organised Sue. If I turned up at your party I think you should recognise me (even in fancy dress) after we met at the Ship Naming Ceremony.

Looks as though we will be having about half of yours if all of yours and ours all show up. My son has informed me this evening that there will be around 25 or so because he is thinking of inviting the neighbours to get to know them better. Guess sleepy tiny Fryup is going to be woken up!!!!

I do hope your party goes really well. You do put a lot of effort into these things. Not sure what is being organised for ours as we will be the visitors I suppose.

Best Wishes

Mavis x
