Hooray it's Friday
Wouldn't normally be excited about the weekend coming as every day is a holiday when you are retired but tomorrow my son is driving over from Luxembourg with the family and I get to see my darling grandsons
Time spent with them is so precious as distance and commitments like school for the boys and work for my son mean I don't get to see them as often as I'd like.

Have a wonderful time with your family.
We are meeting up with friends this evening for a dinner followed by an auction for Breast Cancer. Other than that, a quiet-ish weekend, keeping safe and dry indoors I think.

Re: Hooray it's Friday
I am making my Christmas cake this weekend. Starting it today by putting the fruit to soak in brandy. Making and baking it tomorrow. Just been down to the local butcher to buy a piece of pork to roast on Sunday. Called in at the local bakery for sme bread and a couple of indulgent sugary doughnuts which we have just eaten with our cup of coffee. DH will be painting the fence if the rain stays away. So, just the two of us as usual, but that's the way we like it!

Re: Hooray it's Friday
Well it's my birthday on Sunday so out to lunch with husband and sister-in-law. Were going to The Down Hotel near Bridgnorth, maybe some of you in Shropshire may know of it. We've been before and it's very good.
Don't know what I'm getting for my birthday pressie but OH asked me if I'd like a Kindle e reader. As I already have an ipad 4 I don't know whether I'd make much use of an e reader. (Maybe that's another topic).

If I get the phone call I’m expecting we’ll be preparing our lounge in readiness for the builder who is coming to knock down our old fire place in readiness for our new “wood burning stove”
I’ll also be nipping down to the bookies hoping that I can win enough to pay for it
Have a lovely time with your family Janis
Regards
Keith

squeaky, lets hope the builders don't find any creepy crawlies in your fireplace, lest you collapse due to fright and have to be sedated

Off to London with a couple of friends and their wives on Saturday ... ladies will do the shopping and us gents are apparently going to some football match ... my mate has got us tickets to a private box and access to the VIP area (I am guessing it will be Arsenal since that is usually who he gets tickets for). I have no real interest in football so I will probably watch a bit and then prop up the bar and read the papers for rest of the match .. dinner afterwards and then a late flight home .. will be a good day out.

DQ, put your cruise clothes away, you don't go for a long time yet. The cruise day doesn't come any quicker if you get your clothes out, chuck!!!

I'm dropping the Lady C and No 1 Daughter off in Swindon en-route to my mother's, and then popping into her local Currys to pick up a new fridge, seeing as an hour ago our current one packed and took the houe electrics with it
