Just a few Points
Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their support with this forum. I have been struggling to try and keep up with what is going on, whilst at the same time trying to finish setting the forum up.
It is my intention that this forum is only a temporary home until P&O decide what they are going to do in respect of a new forum, but how long that will take is anyones guess. Depending on how things go then I might be persuaded to keep it going long term but we will have to wait and see.
I have noticed that there have been a few posts about problems with the forum but they are somewhat scattered around the forum so would you please repost them in the new forum that I have set up called "Forum Problems"
Could I ask those of you who have larger than "normal" avatars to resize them please.
Also if there are any forums that I have missed could you let me know please.

Re: Just a few Points
Thanks admin for the new forum, I was really missing the P&O one. I especially like the way you can click on to the P&O website, very useful. I'm not very technically minded but this seems very easy to negotiate. I'm sure it's going to be really successful.

Looks great and easy to use. I re sized mine to 250 x 250 following instructions on here. Let me know if it needs to be smaller.

Re: Just a few Points
Delboy, I found that when I resized mine to the max allowable (250x250) it still looked a bit larger than some others, so shrunk it further.Delboy wrote:David

For reference, mine is now only 160x155!

Sue, see my last reply to Delboy. Maybe you need to make it slightly smaller, though I understand that you did follow the site's requirements.Suekersh wrote:Looks great and easy to use. I re sized mine to 250 x 250 following instructions on here. Let me know if it needs to be smaller.

BTW, was it deliberate to make Mitre Peak look like your hat?

Jay - see http://community.mywebworld.org.uk/view ... ?f=12&t=53 posted by Romig. I used my camera's picture editor though to get the required size (Panasonic PHOTfunSTUDIO) or try Picasa from Google (free).. Jenni

Re: Just a few Points
Jay,
If it's a picture of your own, your computer's built-in picture viewer program may also have an edit facility, or some other way of cropping your picture.
Just be sure to make a copy of it first, and play around with the copy rather than the original!
When you open the picture using the picture viewing program (such as Windows Photo Gallery) you should be able to click on something like "fix" or "edit" to select a sizing/cropping option.
I think that "resizing" makes the whole lot smaller, whereas "cropping" loses edges of the original.
Keep trying!

Re: Just a few Points
Oddly enough I resized mine only to be then told the file size was too big, even though it was taken from the original which did fit. I only achieved this one with trial and error. I used the resize function in ACDSee Pro2.

To be fair Foxy, it's much better at that small size...
Who wants to see that big rabid dog waving at them every time they read one of your posts??

Following my efforts at resizing I now have about a dozen copies. I suppose it's better than my mug shot.
