Favourite burger choice at the poolside burger bar?
Does anyone have a preference on salad and other fillings on their poolside burgers?
Should there be more choice?

I only very rarely eat burgers, but....
The base should be smeared with mayo.
Then some sliced tomato and raw onion.
Next the burger itself (with cheese)
Topped with fried onions
Finally, ketchup on the underside of the top bun.
(Have to fetch the tomato/onion from the buffet usually).
As I said...I rarely eat them!

Excellent topic, btw!

That is a very good selection, although for my personal taste I would leave out the mayo. Also I think they actually have tomato and onion behind the burger bar if you ask.
I asked for pesto once but they didn't have it, bringing my own next time.

I didn't know that....but it usually is hard enough to get the fried onions - so perhaps best not to push my luck!christopher wrote:That is a very good selection, although for my personal taste I would leave out the mayo. To be fair Jack, there were several days when I intended not to have a burger!
I somehow accidently ended up with one on the plate!

Yes Flora we always forget the Glass House, it's lovely for either lunch or evening meal for a change from the MDR - and reasonably priced too - I used to like the Ramblas on Ventura but I understand its changing to something else?

Ooh that'll be nice, thanks for information - I'm glad about decor though as I love the olive tree and warm atmosphere.

Re: Favourite burger choice at the poolside burger bar?
Nowadays I find the traditional burger bland and like to spice it up a bit with a decent relish (onion or chilli) or maybe a bit of pepper sauce with mushrooms. Naturally the bap is important and these days I think a good ciabatta does the job best.
My preference though is for chicken burgers but only those I make myself. This is a decent chicken breast covered with breadcrumbs (about 175gm weight is about right) baked in the oven. A fresh ciabatta should be warmed in the oven and spread with a simple salad ... mine consists of finely shredded lettuce and onion, a heaped teaspoon of low fat mayo and teaspoon of extra hot Encona pepper sauce.
Also don't forget the chips on the side.

Best burger I ever had was made from minced pure rib-eye steak, served in a soft bun with lettuce, tomato, raw onion, cheese (which I did not take), bacon and then had haggis on top with 3 different relishes served on the side.
