BBC Local SW News said it was 75mph in Yeovil during the early hours, we are a good distance from there but the howlin whistlin wind sure woke us up ... feller down the road seems to have had several fence posts snap off but all is quiet and sunny as I write this ' post '.

Here in Kent the worst was about 6.30, but things soon died down after that.

The people over the road had a fence down and there were a lot of twigs and small branches down on the roads, but apart from that there doesn't seem to be much damage around here.

When we opened the curtains this morning, there was a confused looking pheasant on the lawn. We hoped it'd fly off when the winds dropped, but it kept wandering round, and kept waiting by the patio door, and trying to get in the house. In the end I had to go out and chase it off - it did fly ok, so wasn't hurt

Thank you Kaymar. The house is still standing , the huge crash about 3am was the table tennis table falling over, scared the life out of myself and the dog! The hens were taken indoors and spent the night in the utility area, I had no idea that 2 small chooks contained so much pooh

Just heard from our son, tiles from his neighbours roof fell on his wife's car causing dents, it is going into garage Thursday to get sorted. They are in the process of getting new car, and have received a quote from dealer for this car, so could affect trade in price..

Still it looks as though he could have some work from the gales, already his business partner, has received a call from a developer they do a lot of work for, that fencing and hoardings round an industrial estate he owns, had all been blown down.

Our daughter has been out, has seen the collapsed helter-skelter on the pier, also said loads of trees down, one persons garage roof blown off, and an 8ft trampoline had blown into a street.

Like Shropshire I think we were extremely lucky that it didn't reach the East Midlands Angela, all very calm out so hopefully it has disappeared, at least from our shores although I wouldn't wish it on anyone

One tile broken into several bits but a neighbor who recently had there roof renewed gave me a couple spare tiles so managed to do the job myself was scary up the ladder but I managed it.
Garden now full of leaves so that's the next job

Landed back at Heathrow from San Francisco at lunchtime today, fortunately without any problems

Was not bad at all here. Bit breezy and raining last night, rain this morning, but nothing to write home about (as they say), and it has been fine and sunny from mid morning and all afternoon. Raining a bit now though. We have had no storm at all here in sunny Bridlington.

So sorry for all those who have had damage from these storms. Hope you can soon get back to normal.

I couldn't even do that when we lost a bungalow tile. Got as far as the gutter and had to turn back!
