Good question. Last time I looked, domain names and hosting cost hard-earned drinking vouchers and David should not be allowed to be out of pocket for this magnificent replacement, which I hope is a permanent feature, not a temporary one.

No particular costs (other than time - good job it's winter and no gardening to do!!)

Domain names are only £5 a year and I already have the hosting account for other purposes. All the software is Open Source so no cost there.

It depends on what software they are using - if it is commercial, such a vbulletin, then you can be looking in the region of £200 per version and good reliable UK hosting can be anything up to £20 per month.

It is a totally different ball game when you have bespoke software running within a corporate infrastructure ... that would be like saying to someone 'I believe you know how to drive a car so you could you land this 747 for me please'.
